Frontierland Station is part of the Walt Disney World Railroad at Magic Kingdom. This attraction stops at three different stations in the Magic Kingdom, including Frontierland. Riding the train around the park is a classic experience at Walt Disney World.
Current Special Circumstances: The Walt Disney World Railroad system has been closed for two years as of early 2021. This is due to the construction of the Tron roller coaster. It is not expected to re-open until construction is complete.

Frontierland Station at Magic Kingdom
A portion of the tracks had to be removed for the construction work, and since the train travels full circle, it cannot operate at this time.
The Walt Disney World Railroad has three stops:
- Frontierland Station
- Fantasyland Station
- Main Street U.S.A.
You can board the train or unload at any of these stops. The train travels a full 1.5 miles around Magic Kingdom park and stops every few minutes at each station. Once you board the train, you can stay on it for as long as you like.
We have used the train for many different reasons in the past. Sometimes we head to Tomorrowland when we first enter the park, but we will take the train to get there for fun. Other times we grab a soda and ride around to take a break.
The train holds a large number of guests and offers narration along the way. You will come across a look into Splash Mountain as you approach Frontierland Station. This station is located directly behind Splash Mountain, so hop on the train instead if you are headed that way and don’t want to walk.
When the train is operating, I consider it a medium priority on the average must-do list. While it’s not necessarily exciting, children and not-so-adventurous guests love this kind of attraction.
I can’t stress to you enough how much you’ll enjoy a train ride around Magic Kingdom. Plus, everyone has a point where they need to take a break, which is a great way to do it.
