NEW: Walt Disney World Railroad to Operate Modified Route Starting July 7th
Earlier today, we shared the closure date for the Liberty Square Riverboat, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Rivers of America in Frontierland at Magic Kingdom. These attractions will all permanently close in early July. In addition to this announcement, Disney has also shared that the Walt Disney World Railroad will run a modified route beginning July 7th. At that time, the Frontierland Station will close, and the train will transport guests between Main Street Station and Fantasyland Station only. Here is the official wording from the Walt Disney World website.
To make way for the largest expansion in history at Magic Kingdom, the Walt Disney World Railroad will be operating under a modified route that excludes Frontierland station beginning July 7. The attraction will operate as a shuttle between Main Street Station and Fantasyland Station only.
I don’t know about you, but we are so happy to hear the Walt Disney World Railroad will continue to run at this time. You may remember it was closed for a significant amount of time during the construction of Tron Lightcycle / Run, which was even more extended due to the pandemic.
In case you missed it, Disney also shared new details about the Cars-themed area coming to Frontierland within the upcoming years. You can preview those details in the article below.
