The 50th Anniversary-Themed Grand Floridian Gingerbread House at Walt Disney World
This year, Disney’s Grand Floridian offers a gingerbread house inspired by the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World, the Most Magical Celebration. You may remember this style debuted last year. Before last year, the gingerbread display was always decorated with true Christmas colors like red and green.
However, iridescent is the color of 2022, and there’s a ton of pixie dust included this year.
If you take the time to look closely, you’ll notice fine details in the decorations. Above each window, there’s airbrushed artwork. For instance, the transom in the photo below features Belle with the Beast in a winter scene.
Our quaint gingerbread house features plenty of porches. Each porch features furniture, snowmen, nutcrackers, and Santa Claus.
Trimming the rooftop, we see gingerbread hearts. Additional cut-outs in the shape of hearts reveal hidden ornaments.
This transom features Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Donald Duck.
There’s even a Christmas village displayed.

As we move around to the side, we see frosted windows with Mickey-shaped wreaths.
A giant gingerbread man lists the ingredients for the gingerbread house. Yes, that’s 1050 pounds of honey!
Isn’t it lovely? I can’t imagine the effort that goes into creating such a grand piece.
A wedding couple snuck into a photo or two while I was taking pictures. You can see them in the top right-hand corner.
It was kind of funny because I think most guests thought they were there for Disney. I kept overhearing people point out to their children that Princess Aurora was there.
Anyway, on the backside of the gingerbread display, we see the menu for the 2022 gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian.
I don’t know about you, but I’m always good for a bar of fudge.
I’ll leave you to try the gingerbread.
Grand Floridian’s gingerbread display officially opens on November 9, 2022. It usually remains up until the first of the year.
The display is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Cast members work inside the house, selling treats to customers from the window.
After I finished, I went upstairs for a few more photos from above.
The rest of the Christmas decorations will be installed at Disney’s Grand Floridian over the coming weeks.
When that happens, I’ll return and take updated photos. In the meantime, you can preview the photos from last year if you like.
I thought it was fun to look in the open area from above and see inside the house.
This area will look quite different when the giant Christmas tree is installed. However, it was nice to sit in the lobby yesterday and observe the comings and goings while the pianist played
