Photos: Star Wars BDX Droids at Disney World
“Emotional connection through technology.” If you ever have a chance to see the BDX Droids at Disney World, or any other theme park or destination, this statement might ring a bell. These Star Wars robotic droids are both adorable and technologically advanced. According to Disney, the droids represent the perfect marriage of Disney’s storytelling with incredible innovation. They are both lifelike and technologically advanced.
To date, the BDX Droids have made appearances at the following Disney destinations: Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, on board the Disney Wish cruise ship, Tokyo Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris. They appeared for the first time at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, on July 16, 2025. At the time, their appearances were at various locations around Galaxy’s Edge on Tuesdays through Saturdays. That limited-time offering ended on August 30th.

We had the opportunity to see the bipedal BDX Droids during their short visit to Blackspire Outpost at Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios. Due to the nature of this limited-time offering, we decided to give them a character spotlight instead of a regular meet-and-greet guide. We hope to see more of the droids in the future. Their appearances are truly a delight and immediately bring a smile to your face as soon as you see them. It’s one of those knee-jerk reactions for the entire crowd, even when the sun is beating down midday.

The BDX Droids are named Red (red), Oscar (orange), and Grek (green). From my understanding, another blue droid is named Besh. We didn’t see Besh on our visit.

The droids are always accompanied by an attendant who provides a little information about each one. This person also helps them communicate with the audience.

We hope you have an opportunity to see the BDX Droids at some point in the future. It would be great to see them in the parks more regularly. If you would like to learn more, see our guide to Star Wars Meet-and-Greets at Disney World. We’re always exploring what’s new around Walt Disney World! Stop by Resorts Gal again soon for the latest!
