Disney’s BoardWalk Villas One-Bedroom Villa Room Tour (Photos + Layout)
Staying in a one-bedroom villa at Disney’s BoardWalk Villas is truly a treat. This unit accommodates up to four guests and offers a floor plan that combines a living, dining, and kitchen area that sits apart from the separate bedroom. It is important to note that the one-bedroom unit at Disney’s BoardWalk sleeps fewer guests than a deluxe studio villa, which is a step down in size and amenities.
Guests who choose to stay in a one-bedroom villa, in general, are looking for the convenience of having the living space, kitchen, in-unit laundry, and other amenities that this type of unit offers. While having the extra space is a plus, it is essential to remember that Boardwalk’s one-bedroom is an amenities upgrade that does not offer that fifth sleeper option.
If you’re unfamiliar with the differences between the villas and the BoardWalk Inn, you might like to read over our BoardWalk Villas Review to discern some of the differences. Briefly, you’ll want to know that BoardWalk Villas is a Disney World Villa Resort that Disney Vacation Club members can book using points, similar to a timeshare. That said, based on availability, Disney makes these units available to anyone who would like to reserve them.

We’ll start this room tour with the living space, which is where you’ll find a pull-down queen-size bed that sleeps two guests.

These handles, pictured below, allow guests to easily lower the bed when it’s time to sleep. It’s a nice feature with a regular queen-size mattress that sleeps two guests.

We had been traveling for quite some time when we arrived at the BoardWalk. So I neglected to take a photo of the bed in the lowered position. I did, however, want to point out that the sofa literally folds underneath it. There is also a coffee table on rollers that you can easily slide out of the way when you need to use the bed.

The coffee table’s top has a lift mechanism that you can use as a desktop or for dining if you like, while you’re sitting on the sofa. Here’s a view of the space looking from the back corner of the room toward the front of the unit.

The table and chairs are a nice touch. I managed to get a little work done here, but personally, the seat height compared to the table height didn’t work well. It’s the only complaint I had about the unit.

A breakfast bar is also available at the end of the island.

Here is the kitchen, which offers all the amenities you would expect to find in a standard kitchen. We used the kitchen during this stay for coffee, making toast, storing leftovers, and housing a few groceries that we picked up before check-in.

Here are a few photos of the amenities you can expect to find in the one-bedroom kitchen. You can select any image below to make it larger.

Next, we’ll take a look inside the bedroom, which offers a king-size bed.

Our unit had a platform-style bed with a nightstand flanking each side. It was a spacious unit with a comfortable mattress. I really appreciated the room’s layout and couldn’t help but note that it was a calm place to end the evening after an adventurous day in the parks.

The room featured a flatscreen television and a dresser with plenty of storage space.

A single chair with a lamp sits in the corner.

I don’t ever mind sitting under the soft light of a lamp, especially when it has a Mickey-shape.

The touches of Disney are subtle throughout the space, but they are present. I don’t know about you, but I prefer having a space that feels clean and relaxed to decompress.

Here are a few photos of the artwork and touches of Disney you’ll find throughout the unit.

The split bath is another nice perk. Below, we have the formal bath that features a shower, toilet, and single vanity. This portion of the bath has a door that opens to the living area and a door that opens to the additional bath area.

Here is a view that shows how the bath adjoins both spaces.

The walk-in shower had a glass door surround, a rainfall showerhead, a detachable shower head, a shelf, and built-in toiletries. The toiletries include shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

In the secondary portion of the split bath, you’ll find a longer vanity with one sink, plenty of counterspace, and a large soaking tub.

The vanity area features a separate makeup mirror and storage underneath. Like any other unit at Disney World, you’ll find a hairdryer.

Here’s a closer look at the soaking tub.

A walk-in closet offers plenty of space to hang items, store luggage, and more. Our unit has a steam iron, an ironing board, a foldable laundry basket, a luggage rack, and an in-room safe.

Speaking of laundry, one of the perks of a one-bedroom or larger unit is having an in-unit washer and dryer. Complimentary laundry detergent is provided. If you ever need more detergent, simply call housekeeping, and they’ll be happy to bring you some.

There is one last detail before we wrap things up. All rooms at the Boardwalk or Boardwalk Villas offer a balcony or a patio if you’re on the first floor. Since we were in a one-bedroom, we had a double balcony that stretched from the living area to the bedroom. Both rooms had French-style doors that lead out to it.

We had a pleasant view of a water feature and the bridge that leads up to the resort. Because we’ve stayed here many times, we figured out quickly that we could park the car near our unit and quickly come and go as desired without having to traipse through those long halls at the resort.

We see a lot of complaints about “parking lot views” and whatnot. But the truth is, if you have a car and you’ll use it here and there, being close to the parking lot is an amenity. We could literally walk out of our room and use the staircase at the end of our hall to walk down and be at the car in less than 3 minutes. (A single elevator was also available at the end of the hall.)

Final Thoughts
Overall, we all enjoyed our stay in the one-bedroom villa at Disney’s Boardwalk. This was part of a split stay, and while we were here, we spent most of our time at Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios since both are within walking distance. We also enjoyed a couple of evenings on the Boardwalk, which is always pleasant.
I was invited to join my friends at Firefly Travels for this trip. As more guests joined our group, we ended up in a larger three-bedroom villa at Saratoga Springs a little later. We’ll take a look at that unit in a separate article.
