Meet Chewbacca at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Near the Millennium Falcon
Chewbacca, the friendly Wookie from Kashyyyk, meets guests daily near the Millennium Falcon in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. He is best known as Han Solo’s loyal friend and Millennium Falcon co-pilot. He appears in episodes 4-6 of the original Star Wars trilogy and episodes 7-9 of the final trilogy. As you likely know, Chewbacca is a gentle giant and makes for a fun character meet-and-greet. He also gives the best hugs.

Chewbacca formerly met guests at Star Wars Launch Bay, which closed in September of 2025. Since then, he’s transitioned from being a roaming character in Galaxy’s Edge to having a traditional character meet-and-greet listed in the My Disney Experience app. You’ll want to check the app for his exact times and location on the day of your visit. Here’s how:
How to Locate Chewbacca in the My Disney Experience App
- Open the My Disney Experience app and select the pin drop at the bottom of the home screen.
- Scroll (left to right) through the icons at the top of the screen and select “Characters.”
- After selecting characters, use the locations drop-down to select the park of your choice.
- Then, on the bottom right of the screen, select “Show List.”
- Scroll through the list of characters until you find Chewbacca.
- Select his meet-and-greet, and you’ll see his location and times for the day.*
- As an alternative, you can use the map view to locate characters.
*As the day passes, you might notice that characters disappear from the app. When their last scheduled time passes, the meet-and-greet automatically disappears. A new schedule won’t be loaded until the following day. It is essential to check the app for meet-and-greets on the day of your visit. Our screenshot tutorial below offers more details.

Rest assured, Chewbacca is as popular as ever in his new location. When we got in line to meet him, it was 12:46 p.m., and there were approximately 25 guests ahead of us. It was 1:07 p.m. when it was our turn to meet him. So we had a total wait of approximately 20 minutes.
A PhotoPass photographer was present at this meet and greet on the day of our visit. Chewbacca also signs autographs. While he’s not a talking character, he does a pretty good job of communicating with guests. Unfortunately, this meet-and-greet location does not offer a Lightning Lane and is not open during extended theme park hours.
- Lightning Lane: No
- Early Theme Park Entry Eligible: No
- Extended Evening Eligible: No
