Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon to Reopen This May (Both Parks Will Be Open For the Summer!)
Walt Disney World has announced that Typhoon Lagoon water park will reopen on May 12th and that both water parks will remain open all summer long! As you may recall, Disney’s Water Parks have operated on a rotational basis for the last five years or so, except last summer, when they both opened simultaneously. To be clear, Typhoon Lagoon is currently open. The park will see its last day of operation before the upcoming refurbishment later this week, on February 14th, 2026. It will then close, and Blizzard Beach will welcome guests back starting February 15th.

If you’re a guest staying at a Disney Resort Hotel this summer, you’ll want to be aware of the complimentary water park admission that’s offered to guests on their check-in day in 2026. Guests visiting an eligible Disney Resort Hotel between May 26th and September 8th can enjoy water park admission on their check-in day, included with their stay. Since both parks will be open, guests can choose which water park to visit!
