Disney’s Grand Floridian’s Refurbishment Extended into Mid-2026
Disney has announced that the ongoing refurbishment of the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa will continue in select areas of the resort through mid-2026. You may recall that in April of 2025, Disney posted a notice that work would begin almost immediately on the resort’s lobby, convention area, and other select areas. Here is a look back at that original notice.
As part of the ongoing enhancements at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, phased updates to the lobby, convention center, and select areas will begin on April 14. Portions of the lobby will close at times, and Guests may encounter changes to their path of travel. While construction will be noticeable during daytime hours, efforts will be made to minimize disruptions—and all pools, dining, and other amenities will remain available. As renovations continue at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, the gingerbread display will not be available during the holiday season in 2025.

Updated Grand Floridian Refurbishment Notice November 2025
As you likely know, the Grand Floridian’s lobby bar is now open, and Disney recently shared an image of the beautifully renovated convention center.

We have a few photos taken from the evening the Perch Bar opened at the resort.

Disney did not specify the scope of the work that remains to be completed at the Grand Floridian between now and mid-2026. We do, however, know that the Garden View Lounge is expected to open in early 2026. The Garden View Lounge, toward the back of the lobby, has been closed since early 2020. Per Disney, it will open with a refreshed look that complements the new lobby design. A new tea experience, suitable for all ages, will be available upon reopening.
