Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Refurbishment Extended Through 2027
Just when it seemed like things were about to wrap up at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, a new refurbishment notice states that work has been extended through early 2027. It was only a few months ago that the refurbishment was extended to mid-2026. Of course, in the last five years, the resort has seen new rooms and updates galore, plus a completely refreshed lobby that’s home to a new bar. You may also remember that the Garden View Lounge tea room experience is slated to reopen this March.
While many had hoped the resort’s refurbishment would soon wrap up after the lounge reopened, it appears that will not be the case. There is more work to be done. While we don’t know the exact scope of what’s left to take place, the new notice mentions work on the resort’s main entrance. Here’s how it reads:
Renovations at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will continue in select areas, including the porte cochere, through early 2027. Guests may see or hear refurbishment work during daytime hours or need to take alternate paths of travel.

As you likely know, several of the resort’s port cocheres have seen extensive work in recent years, including Beach Club, the Yacht Club, and the Polynesian. We’ll have to see what takes place over the next year, and whether or not this will be the end of the exceptionally long resort refurbishment.
