Fantasyland Station at Magic Kingdom (A Resorts Gal Guide)
Fantasyland Station is one of three train stations comprising the Walt Disney World Railroad at Magic Kingdom. Fantasyland Station is located at the back of Storybook Circus, directly behind Goofy’s Barnstormer. Guests can board or depart the train at Fantasyland Station. Other stops include Main Street Station on Main Street, U.S.A., and Frontierland Station.
During the summer, the trains usually operate from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. When it gets dark earlier, those hours are often shorter, ranging between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. You can check the train’s exact times for the day of your visit in the My Disney Experience app.
*The WDW Railroad is operating on a reduced schedule. At this time, the train runs a reverse route from Main Street, U.S.A. to Fantasyland Station. It then returns from Fantasyland Station to Main Street, U.S.A. This is due to the construction of the new Cars area and Villains Land that is being built beyond Frontierland.

Here is a photo of the front of the station. Four locomotives circle the railroad. They are the Lilly Belle, Walter E. Disney, Roy O. Disney, and Roger E. Broggie.

Fantasyland Station
Fantasyland Station has a large, covered waiting area. It is convenient for catching the train if you’re in the park’s surrounding Fantasyland area. We often catch the train at Fantasyland Station and take it to the front of the park. If you’re in the Fantasyland or Storybook Circus area and plan to leave the park, you can catch the train here and disembark at Main Street, U.S.A.

From there, walk down to the ground level, and you’ll be at the park’s main entrance. If you were to time the train’s arrival just right, it’s probably the quickest way back to the front of the park. However, it does take some time for the train to load and unload.
We enjoy taking the train for leisure, but sometimes we use it to travel to specific park areas, especially when it’s crowded. You can ride the train for as long as you like.
Guests can disembark at any of the three stops or stay aboard and continue circling the park. Between Fantasyland Station and Main Street, U.S.A., you’ll pass through a tunnel in Tomorrowland.
This portion of the ride offers unique views of Space Mountain, Tron, and the PeopleMover. However, the train doesn’t stop in Tomorrowland. But you can exit at Fantasyland Station and take the walkway behind the Barnstormer straight into Tomorrowland.

Overall, the train is a pleasant ride that we enjoy from time to time. It’s an excellent place to take a break, and if your kids take a nap while you’re riding, you can always stay on as long as you need.
