Mears Connect Airport Shuttle Service to Disney World Adds Extra Fee for Rising Fuel Costs
If you’re visiting Walt Disney World in the near future and plan to use Mears Connect, you’ll want to be aware that the company announced an extra fee to cover rising fuel costs. Mears Connect is an independent airport shuttle service that operates between the Orlando International Airport and Walt Disney World.
A disclaimer has been added to the top of the company’s website that reads: Please Be Advised: A 3% Fuel Surcharge Will Be Added to All Reservations Until Further Notice – Thank You.

At present, standard service per adult from the Airport to a Disney Resort Hotel runs approximately $16.00 for a one-way trip with an additional privilege fee recovery charge of $1.60, making the average total $17.60 per adult or $33.60 for a round-trip. (This rate is for adults. Children aged 3-9 years old have a standard rate of $13.00 for a total of $14.30 one-way or $27.30 on round-trip tickets.)
While the added 3% fuel surcharge (about 0.48 for adults and 0.30 for children one-way) is minimal, it is something you will want to be aware of when creating your budget for Disney World.
In addition to the standard service, Mears Connect offers an Express Service that provides direct round-trip service to all Disney Resorts for an additional fee. The differences between the services are as follows:
- Standard: Shared service, limited wait & stops
- Express: Shared service, minimal wait, direct round-trip service to ALL Disney Resorts
The express service is an upgrade that requires an additional fee. You can check prices here on the Mears Connect website. Just remember, a 3% surcharge will be added to all rates for the foreseeable future. Check back with Resorts Gal soon for more news and updates.
