Meet Goofy and Max Goof on Grand Ave at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Goofy and his son, Max Goofy, meet guests daily at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. As of early 2026, the pair are meeting at a location called Grand Ave at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Grand Ave is immediately outside the main entrance of Galaxy’s Edge. It’s across the walkway from the former Muppets Courtyard that’s currently being converted to a Monsters, Inc.-themed land.
Goofy plays the role of a cool dad at this meet-and-greet location. He wears a tropical shirt sporting vacation vibes. While Max, the typical teen, wears a bright red shirt with purple pants, as he did in A Goofy Movie. In the past, we’ve seen the pair meeting guests separately at this location. However, more recently, they’ve been meeting guests as a duo, meaning there is one line and you have your picture made with both of them.
Max and Goofy meet intermittently between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Their official meet-and-greet times are listed in the My Disney Experience app.
Here are the instructions for checking the app. But a word of warning. With the ongoing development at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the pair might be relocated at some point. We’ll provide an update if that happens. But you’ll still want to check the My Disney Experience app on the day of your visit for their exact location and availability.
How to Locate Characters in the My Disney Experience App
- Open the My Disney Experience app and select the pin drop at the bottom of the home screen.
- Scroll (left to right) through the icons at the top of the screen and select “Characters.”
- After selecting characters, use the locations drop down to select the park of your choice.
- Then, on the bottom right of the screen, select “Show List.”
- Scroll through the list of characters with their times and locations.
- As an alternative, you can use the map view to locate characters.
*As the day passes, you might notice that characters disappear from the app. When their last scheduled time passes, the meet-and-greet automatically disappears. A new schedule won’t be loaded until the following day. It is essential to check the app for meet-and-greets on the day of your visit.

- Max and Goofy both sign autographs, so you’ll want to have your autograph books out and ready for them to sign.
- PhotoPass photographers were available on the day of our visit. However, they are not guaranteed.
- If you have trouble finding a character, ask a cast member wearing a blue shirt at any character meet. These cast members work with characters and are usually in the know about where and when to find someone.
- Always check the My Disney Experience app on the day of your visit for the exact location and time of character meet-and-greets. (Always)
