Meet Mickey Mouse the Magician at Town Square Theater (Magic Kingdom)
Mickey Mouse meets daily at Magic Kingdom just inside the park’s entrance at Town Square Theater. He meets at this location as Mickey the Magician. As you can imagine, this is one of the most popular character meet-and-greets at Disney World. He typically meets from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. However, when the park closes earlier, his meet-and-greet is generally in line with the park’s hours of operation. Below, we’ll detail the specifics of meeting Mickey Mouse at Town Square Theater, where guests are invited backstage to see his rehearsal room. Don’t be surprised if you find a long line. Given Mickey’s popularity, wait times for this location can be lengthy!

How to Locate Characters in the My Disney Experience App
- Open the My Disney Experience app and select the pin drop at the bottom of the home screen.
- Scroll (left to right) through the icons at the top of the screen and select “Characters.”
- After selecting characters, use the locations drop-down to select the park of your choice.
- Then, on the bottom right of the screen, select “Show List.”
- Scroll through the list of characters with their times and locations.
- As an alternative, you can use the map view to locate characters.
*As the day passes, you might notice that characters disappear from the app. When their last scheduled time passes, the meet-and-greet automatically disappears. A new schedule won’t be loaded until the following day. It is essential to check the app for meet-and-greets on the day of your visit.

Town Square Theater is on the immediate right when you first enter Magic Kingdom. You can’t miss it.

Wait times for the meet-and-greet are posted at the entrance.

The queue for Mickey Mouse’s meet-and-greet begins inside the theater, past the foyer. Thankfully, it’s an air-conditioned space. So, it’s not the worst place to wait in line during the heat of the day or in inclement weather.

On the day of this visit, the posted wait was 25 minutes when I joined the line at 2:48 p.m.

While you’re waiting, you might notice some electronic signs featuring Mickey the Magnificent performing magic tricks.

After the initial queue, you’ll enter a series of smaller, private rooms. Only a handful of guests wait together in these areas. Occasionally, a cast member will open the door and ask for the next party. Not to spoil the magic, but Mickey meets guests simultaneously in several rooms. (He is a magician, after all.) Fortunately, you’ll be none the wiser as you’re ushered into the next private meeting area. Here are a few more elements from the queue:

It was 3:17 p.m. when we met Mickey Mouse. So overall, it was a 29-minute wait, which was pretty much in line with the posted 25-minute wait. We meet with characters often and find that wait times are usually consistent, giving or taking 5-10 minutes. There is no time limit for anyone to meet with the characters. So, in some situations, parties might take longer than average. Other times, you’ll see a family wait for an hour and take less than a minute to get their photo taken.

Mickey’s dressing room is the final waiting area, where you’ll meet Mickey. It’s filled with fun props and several magicians’ accessories.

A trunk contains cards, spell books, and other magic tricks.

Here is the built-in photo box that will take your photos. Unfortunately, this machine replaced the PhotoPass Photographer at this location.

Anyway, this display of props is fun. Mickey has a bottomless hat; one has doves, and another is missing. Indeed, it’s the rabbit hat.

Then, of course, Mickey Mouse is waiting to greet you with a big grin and open arms.

When it’s your turn, Mickey will greet you first. Cast members ask that you have autograph books and pens out and ready. Mickey will sign his autograph before posing with you for photos.

He’s the best!

Mickey Mouse gives hugs, signs his autograph, and poses for photos. However, he is not a talking character. Here is a photo of his autograph.

If you don’t have the Memory Maker, you’ll want cameras or cell phones ready to capture a few photos. Of course, you can always ask the cast member attending the meet-and-greet if they can assist.
From my experience, the best time to meet Mickey Mouse is immediately after the Festival of Fantasy Parade. Many guests are drawn away from attractions and character meets during this time, so waits usually drop significantly. You could find a place to watch the parade near the entrance of Town Square Theater. Then, as soon as it passes, head inside to meet Mickey. Wait times should be minimal.
This same strategy works for the evening fireworks if the park stays open afterward. However, you’ll want to be near the theater’s entrance after the fireworks conclude to avoid the crowds trying to exit.
With that said, any time to meet Mickey Mouse is a good time. He’s genuinely one of a kind. For more details, you might like our guide to finding Mickey Mouse at Disney World.
