Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Guide (2026)
This guide to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party provides an overview of what to expect in 2026. We’ll discuss the entire event, including entertainment offerings, character greetings, trick-or-treating, and other extras. We’ll also provide tips and itinerary planning based on our experience. As for our experience, we’ve been attending the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party for well over a decade. We try to attend at least two parties a year to provide updates and, simply said, we enjoy it. After all, it’s really not so scary.
For starters, you’ll want to know that Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is one of the most popular extra-ticketed events at Walt Disney World. We anticipate the first party date to kick off in mid-August, with the last party date running through October 31st. Disney usually announces party dates sometime between mid-April and late May. We will update this guide when exact dates are announced for 2026.
If you’re even the slightest bit interested in attending Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, you’ll also want to know that every date usually sells out. This adds a little pressure to securing tickets for desired dates earlier rather than later. Typically, the week of Halloween sells out first, followed by the first couple of party dates, followed by other October dates, followed by other August dates, and then September. Because of this added pressure to secure tickets early, we often see questions like:
- Is the Halloween Party worth it?
- What’s available during the party?
- What can you reasonably expect to see and do?
As we continue, we’ll strive to address these questions. We’ll also discuss how to prioritize your interests to help maximize your time. Upfront, we have one warning. Mickey’s Halloween Party has so many offerings that we find it impossible to do everything in one evening. So we advise you to prioritize items that will bring the most value to your touring group. Then, form a plan that incorporates those items into a reasonable (read: doable) schedule. You can get a lot done with a good plan.
You’ll also want to consider how you’ll spend the day of the party. We do not recommend doing anything extra on a party day. If you were to tire early, you would miss some of the best touring time during the party. You’ll also want to feel your best for this type of event. So grab your trick-or-treat bag and load it with candy because we’re off to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Let’s Boo This!

2026 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Dates and Times
Dates for the 2026 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party have not been announced. For reference, we’ve left the dates for last year’s party.
- Aug. 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26, 29
- Sept. 2, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, 21, 23, 25, 26, 28, 30
- Oct. 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19, 23, 24, 26, 28, 30, 31
Last year’s event tickets ranged from $119.00 to $229.00 per ticket plus tax. (Prices vary by event date. Remember that every party date sold out last year.)

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party begins at 7:00 p.m. and lasts until midnight. However, Disney allows ticketed party guests to enter the park as early as 4:00 p.m. With admission, you can spend up to eight hours at Magic Kingdom.
Given the extra cost of the event, the party is usually a one-night deal for most guests, similar to a one-shot rodeo. Therefore, it is essential to identify the rides, characters, and experiences that are must-dos for your group in advance and form a plan that incorporates as many of those items as possible.
Before the formal start of the event (between 4:00 and 7:00 p.m.), you can dine, enjoy attractions, and possibly meet a character or two who make an early appearance before the party. One of our big musts is to dine before the party’s official start time. With so much going on, it would be a shame to have a sit-down meal when the party was just getting started. (Now you could have a quick service picnic while waiting for the parade or fireworks, but we really enjoy setting aside the time to have a meal before the party begins.)

New This Year at Mickey’s Halloween Party
So far, Disney hasn’t made any formal announcements for the 2026 Halloween Party other than confirming its return.
Entertainment at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party
The following entertainment offerings are usually available at the Halloween Party. We expect most of these items to return with possible changes to some of the dance parties.
- Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular
- Mickey’s “Boo-To-You” Halloween Parade
- Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular
- Zombies Dance Party
- Disney Junior Jam
- Character Greetings
- The Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet
We’ve provided a basic overview of what to expect for each of these entertainment offerings below. The first three (fireworks, parade, and stage show) are considered to be big-ticket items. Each item is exclusive to the party.
Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular (Fireworks)
Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular debuted at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party a few years back. The fireworks spectacular brought back many childhood memories and evoked much emotion. The performance is similar to the style of Happily Ever After.
Hosted by Jack Skellington, Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular tells a story through its castle projections. Those projections feature Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and the rest of the gang as they visit a haunted mansion. From the beginning, the spectacular gets bonus points for the inclusion of the classic characters we know and love. Additionally, a dreamy Sleeping Beauty-Esque moment features projections of ghost ballroom dancers.
This performance is usually offered at 10:00 p.m. each evening.

Mickey’s Boo to You Halloween Parade
Mickey’s Boo to You Halloween Parade is a favorite among most party-goers. The parade is held twice nightly during the party. A few years ago, Disney changed the start time for the parade to help those visiting with little ones be able to enjoy it. (It was not uncommon for tired toddlers to knock out in their strollers and completely miss the parade!)
In recent years, the first performance begins at 8:15 p.m. when there is still a little daylight left. Like the Festival of Fantasy Parade, Boo to You steps off in Frontierland and makes its way to Liberty Square. The parade then turns into the castle hub and travels in front of Cinderella Castle before making its way down Main Street, U.S.A.
Additionally, the headless horseman rides through the entire parade route a couple of minutes before the parade begins! It’s quite a surreal experience!
My recommendation is to see which parade works best with your schedule. However, I do recommend (if you enjoy parades) finding a spot in advance and watching it from Main Street. There’s something magical about seeing the parade from the heart and center of Magic Kingdom. It’s an experience you won’t soon forget. You’ll also want to take the weather into account on the night of your visit. If there is even a slight chance of rain, we recommend trying to see the first parade in the event one or the other is cancelled.
The first parade is typically offered at 8:15 p.m., followed by a second performance at 11:15 p.m.

Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular
The Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular is performed on the stage at Cinderella Castle. As the name promises, it’s full of Disney Villains. You can expect to see the Sanderson Sisters, Oogie Boogie, Lady Tremaine, Cruella de Ville, and more!
Showtimes will vary for this event, depending on when you’re visiting. Typically, the show is offered three times per night through most of September. (9:05 p.m., 10:35 p.m., 12:00 a.m.) Then a fourth show is added when it gets dark early enough to accommodate it. (7:35 p.m., 9:05 p.m., 10:35 p.m., 12:00 a.m.)

Disney Junior Jam
This offering has not been confirmed for 2026.
The Disney Junior Jam is a dance party for younger children. Typically, popular Disney Junior characters like Fancy Nancy, Vampirina, and Doc McStuffins are on the dance floor. The dance party runs intermittently between 7:00 p.m. and midnight. It’s held at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe.
Zombie Dance Party
This offering has not been confirmed for 2026.
This year, a new Zombie dance party will replace the DescenDANCE Party. This dance party, held in front of the Rocket-Tower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland, celebrates the new Disney Channel film ZOMBIES 4: Dawn of the Vampires. The dance floor is typically open between 7:00 p.m. and midnight.
Character Greetings
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is an excellent place to meet a few rare characters! We’ve listed a few characters that have historically had meet-and-greets in recent years. We will update this character list as more are announced. However, we likely won’t have a complete and accurate list until the first night of the party.

Some of these locations allow guests to meet multiple characters simultaneously. These meet-and-greets are so rare that the seasonal parties are usually the only place you have a chance to meet them. For you (and me), this means exceptionally long lines to meet characters.

In addition to meet-and-greets, Disney has incorporated more character sightings in recent years. We’ve listed a few below that were available at last year’s party.
- Donald Duck in Halloween Costume at PhilharMagic

Those with food allergies can receive a token at each trick-or-treat location. A green bag indicates trick-or-treaters with food allergies. So, to reiterate, you go through the regular trick-or-treat lines. There, you receive a token instead of candy. Then, you take your tokens to the allergy-friendly center to pick out treats.

Mickey’s Halloween Party Photo Opportunities
If you’re a fan of PhotoPass opportunities and Magic Shots, you’ll want to consider the Memory Maker. Last year’s party had more event-exclusive Magic Shots than we’ve ever seen! We’ll provide an update with more details for 2026 when they become available. In the meantime, you might like to preview last year’s Halloween PhotoPass options.

Tips For Mickey’s Halloween Party
We have a few tips for the party. However, you should plan the evening based on your priorities. The best thing to do in advance is to form a reasonable plan that allows for error. If you try to pack too much in, you might be overwhelmed.
We usually make a loose schedule and save it in the notes section of my phone. Something like this can help you reference the most important items throughout the evening. If you get ahead, that’s great. You might find time to ride Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or meet a character. But you can prioritize the most important things if you get behind on your list.
I will tell you now. It is more likely that you’ll get behind on your list instead of ahead. It happens to the best of us. That said, making the effort to plan wisely will help you get the big things knocked out efficiently. We like to break the night down into three portions:
- Pre-Party Hours from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Rides, Dining, and Characters)
- Event Exclusive Entertainment from 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. (Stage Show, Parade, Fireworks)
- Late Party Hours 10:30 p.m.– 12:00 a.m. (Rides and/or Characters)
*If you think you can make it until the end of the party, you might save the stage show for the end of the night. The last performance is typically offered at midnight. However, I am usually exhausted at that point. I also almost always use my last few minutes of the party to get in line to meet Mickey and Minnie Mouse. The stage show is usually just starting or in process when I exit their meet-and-greet, but I have yet to make it back up Main Street to watch the final show.
If your priority is meeting characters, start with Jack and Sally at 4:00 p.m. They usually begin meeting at 4:30 p.m. Then, you might get in line for another character’s meet-and-greets close to 6:30 p.m. Unfortunately, most of the character meetings don’t start until 7:00 p.m. But long lines build well ahead of time. Before the event’s exclusive entertainment, grab a bite to eat (counter service or treat) and get a spot for the entertainment. Then, after the event exclusives, head back to finish meeting characters as desired.
If your priority is to ride as many rides as possible, start at 4:00 p.m. Then get in as many rides as possible until 7:30 p.m. Take a break and grab a snack while waiting for the evening events to start. After the three exclusives, head back out to the rides you desire with low wait times.
Tip: We like to watch the villain’s stage show, the parade, and the fireworks within the same window of time when the schedule allows.
Mickey’s Halloween Party Extras
Before wrapping things up, I wanted to share a few extras. For starters, event-exclusive merchandise will be available for guests to purchase during the party. These items will be available at the Emporium on Main Street.
If you’re a fan of the Haunted Mansion, don’t miss the ghosts’ appearances on the lawn. We usually see Madame Carlotta and the butler. The darker the evening gets, the more they tend to light up. They have a hilarious spiel. It is always a treat to see them out greeting guests.

Final Thoughts
As for Mickey’s Not So Scary, I may be exhausted by the time I leave, but I tend to have a smile on my face, and I’m happy that I was able to attend. While it is expensive, I’ve never left wishing that I hadn’t bought a ticket. We have attended the party many times over the years. Whether it’s your first party or 100th, I hope you will have a frightening time! Well, not really. After all, it’s really not so scary!
