Where to Meet Moana at Epcot (Near Journey of Water)

If you’re hoping to meet Moana at Epcot, you’ll find a dedicated meet-and-greet near her attraction, Journey of Water-Inspired by Moana. As usual, be prepared for a long wait. She is one of the most popular character meet-and-greets at Epcot. Below, we’ll discuss specifics for this location.

Moana’s meet-and-greet at Epcot is located in World Nature across the walkway from the entrance of Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana.

She meets guests intermittently between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. On the day of our visit, the My Disney Experience app listed her last meet-and-greet time as 2:30 p.m. However, when we arrived, the signage outside her location indicated she should return at 3:45 p.m.

After confirming this with a cast member, we got in line and waited. It was 3:10 p.m., and she was set to return at 3:45 p.m. While waiting, at least 20 other guests asked the same cast member when Moana would return. Many of them joined the line behind us. By 3:25 p.m., approximately 30 guests were waiting to meet Moana. When Moana returned from her break, the line had already been cut off for the day, and many guests were turned away. After meeting Moana, we went to the back of the line to take a photo. As you can see, a good number of guests were waiting for the meet-and-greet. (The guests on the right side of the photo below are queued for her character meet.)

She greets guests with a smile and has lots of excitement to share.

Since Moana is a talking character, you might think of something to ask her while waiting. She asked if I had done any way-finding lately. Then I asked about Hei Hei and Pua.

She also signs character autographs.

Cast members ask that you have your autograph book out with the page open where you want her to sign. Moana will sign her autograph before you pose for pictures with her.

As always, you’ll want to check the My Disney Experience app on the day of your visit for her exact times. Since this meet-and-greet initially debuted, it has remained popular. Here are the instructions for locating her times in the app.

How to Locate Characters in the My Disney Experience App

Open the My Disney Experience app and select the pin drop at the bottom of the home screen.
Scroll (left to right) through the icons at the top of the screen and select “Characters.”
After selecting characters, use the locations drop-down to select the park of your choice.
Then, on the bottom right of the screen, select “Show List.”
Scroll through the list of characters with their times and locations.

As an alternative, you can use the map view to locate characters.

*As the day passes, you might notice that characters disappear from the app. When their last scheduled time passes, the meet-and-greet automatically disappears. A new schedule won’t be loaded until the following day. It is essential to check the app for meet-and-greets on the day of your visit.
