Walt Disney World has announced that boat transportation will be unavailable at Disney’s Old Key West Resort from mid-February through early April 2025. Boat service is typically offered as an option from the resort to Disney Springs. Guests will need to take the bus to Disney Springs during this time. Here is the exact wording of the notice:
From February 10 to early April 2025, boat transportation from Old Key West to Disney Springs will be unavailable. Resort buses will be available as an alternative during this time.

It’s important to note that all Disney Resorts offer bus service to Disney Springs year-round, including Old Key West. Bus service to the venue begins approximately 30 minutes before Disney Springs opens each morning. The bus drops you off at the Town Center entrance. When you return, you can take the walkway near the Coca-Cola Store or by Wolf-Gang Puck Bar and Grill back to the bus stop for Disney’s Old Key West. Since Old Key West is a Disney Springs Resort, the bus stop is conveniently located at the first bus stop area.
Update: This refurbishment has been completed.

We have found that many guests aren’t aware that this bus service is an additional option. While the boat ride is lovely, the bus is often faster. However, we prefer to take the route that will get us to our destination with fewer steps. For reference, the boat service drops guests off at the Marketplace dock, which is in an entirely different area from the bus stop.
