Where to Meet Pocahontas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Pocahontas is one of the most free-spirited characters at Walt Disney World. She meets guests intermittently throughout the day in the Oasis area of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. She also sometimes meets on the Discovery Island Trails.

Below, we’ll discuss the specifics for meeting Pocahontas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It is important to note that Animal Kingdom is undergoing major construction for the next few years. We’ve seen many character locations shift and expect more. While we try to keep our character guides as updated as possible, things could and will likely change. So make sure you see our section below on how to use the app to locate characters.

We found Pocahontas meeting in The Oasis, the area just beyond the ticket turnstiles that you walk through before you reach the bridge to Discovery Island and the Tree of Life. The Oasis has several animal enclosures, and it’s a wonderful place to explore if you have the time. On this visit, Pocahontas was meeting in an area toward the top right side of The Oasis, past the Babirusa enclosure. Here is a photo of the area where she meets.

When we first arrived, the line didn’t appear long. Then, the cast member directed us to continue down the path and join the back of the line, which we couldn’t see from where we were standing. As you can see in the picture below, the line was pretty long.

It took approximately 20 minutes to meet Pocahontas. She was very enthusiastic and immediately asked us if we had seen Meeko. She mentioned that if we ran into him, he would probably want snacks.

Pocahontas is an autograph-signing character. So make sure to have your autograph book out and turned to the page you would like her to sign. She will sign her autograph first thing after greeting you.

Then, you can put your book away and pose for a few photos. A PhotoPass photographer was available on the day of our visit. However, they are not guaranteed. We are in the parks regularly, and I have noticed an uptick in photographers at the character meets lately, which is a positive.

How to Locate Characters in the My Disney Experience App

• Open the My Disney Experience app and select the pin drop at the bottom of the home screen.
• Scroll (left to right) through the icons at the top of the screen and select “Characters.”
• After selecting characters, use the locations drop-down to select the park of your choice.
• Then, on the bottom right of the screen, select “Show List.”
• Scroll through the list of characters with their times and locations.
• As an alternative, you can use the map view to locate characters.

*As the day passes, you might notice that characters disappear from the app. When their last scheduled time passes, the meet-and-greet automatically disappears. A new schedule won’t be loaded until the following day. It is essential to check the app for meet-and-greets on the day of your visit.
