A Quick Reference to Former and Irregular Star Wars Characters
Over the years, we’ve seen numerous characters make appearances at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s a park that celebrated Star Wars well before Galaxy’s Edge was built. Here are a few of the characters (some more recent than others) that we’ve seen in the last decade or so. It is important to note that while not impossible, it would be extremely unlikely to run into any of these characters:
BDX Droids (appeared in 2025 for a limited-time offering), Jawas, C-3PO, R2-D2, Darth Maul, and Captain Phasma. (Captain Phasma led the March of the First Order down Hollywood Boulevard. However, that offering concluded when Galaxy’s Edge opened.) Additionally, numerous characters appeared during Star Wars Weekends (many years ago now). The number of characters you might have seen during that time was almost unreal.

How To Find Star Wars Characters
We always like to remind our readers that while many things remain consistent at Disney, things can still change. The best way for you to locate character meet-and-greets at Disney World is to use the My Disney Experience app on the day of your visit. We’ve provided a set of quick instructions below.
How to Locate Characters in the My Disney Experience App
- Open the My Disney Experience app and select the pin drop at the bottom of the home screen.
- Scroll (left to right) through the icons at the top of the screen and select “Characters.”
- After selecting characters, use the locations drop-down to select the park of your choice.
- Then, on the bottom right of the screen, select “Show List.”
- Scroll through the list of characters with their times and locations.
- As an alternative, you can use the map view to locate characters.
*As the day passes, you might notice that characters disappear from the app. When their last scheduled time passes, the meet-and-greet automatically disappears. A new schedule won’t be loaded until the following day. It is essential to check the app for meet-and-greets on the day of your visit.

Roaming Characters in Galaxy’s Edge
Below, we’ll look at some character interactions you might have in Galaxy’s Edge. Most of the roaming characters are out daily, and they are listed in the My Disney Experience app. So, if you take the time to look for them, they shouldn’t be too difficult to find.

Grogu and The Mandalorian
Din Djarin and Grogu (AKA The Mandalorian) have become regulars on the planet of Batuu. They are the hottest commodity in the galaxy, and fans love them. The pair meet daily in Galaxy’s Edge, and their times are listed in the My Disney Experience app.
They can typically be found toward the edge of the Black Spire Outpost Market. This location is on the left, past Rise of the Resistance, immediately before the market entrance. They come out from time to time and visit with guests. When crowds are reasonable, you might run into them while walking through the market.
If meeting the pair is important to you, we suggest finding them earlier in the day rather than later. Our experience is that they will pose for a photo if you ask politely. However, if crowds are overbearing, they might not stay out long. So don’t be too disappointed if you don’t get a photo with them. Rey
Rey, from the last trilogy in the Skywalker Star Wars saga, is a regular roaming character in Galaxy’s Edge. She is often listed in the My Disney Experience app as making appearances between 9:00 a.m. and the park’s closing time. Usually, she is out around the Millennium Falcon, immediately next to Smugglers Run. We have found that she is reasonably easy to run into on our visits.

Kylo Ren
Kylo Ren makes appearances on the planet Batuu. Occasionally, you might hear his ship landing near First Order Cargo. This unique interaction is listed in the entertainment section of the My Disney Experience app as the “First Order Searches for the Resistance.” It happens intermittently throughout most of the day.

He makes a pretty big entrance and is usually surrounded by a couple of Stormtroopers. Kylo Ren is listed in the My Disney Experience app as appearing most of the day. We have seen him out more and more often as of late.

In addition to his stage theatrics, you might run into Kylo Ren roaming the land. Don’t be surprised if he tries to use the force to get you to tell him where the rebel spy is hiding.

Vi Moradi
Speaking of rebel spies, Vi Moradi is often out roaming Batuu. You might see her captured by Stormtroopers. Sometimes, she gets caught! If she’s managed to escape, you’ll find her hiding around various props in the land. She is pretty easy to spot with her blue hair and bright orange jacket.
She will likely ask you which side you’re on–the good guys or the bad?

Chewbacca
Chewbacca used to roam Galaxy’s Edge throughout the day. However, since Star Wars Launch Bay closed, he has been meeting guests regularly near the Millennium Falcon. We consider this to be a traditional meet-and-greet since it is listed in the My Disney Experience app.

Stormtroopers
The Stormtroopers are the most common characters roaming Galaxy’s Edge. They are so common that it would be uncommon not to see them. I can’t tell you how often I’ve encountered them stopping guests to ask what they’re doing with their data pads (cell phones).

Darth Vader
Darth Vader has a fairly new meet-and-greet location at Star Tours-The Adventure Continues, an attraction near Echo Lake. You will find him in an area near the attraction’s queue. As always, a word of warning when it comes to Darth Vader. He will stay “in character.” So, this meet-and-greet could be intimidating for smaller children. However, it is an excellent place to have a family photo taken, and Darth Vader will ensure that everyone cooperates.
