Reports of Temporary Holiday Restrictions in Place for Disney Springs Bus Service to Resort Hotels
If you have plans to visit Disney Springs in the near future with the intention of using bus transportation to one of the Disney Resort Hotels, you might run into a snag. We’ve seen numerous reports that cast members are checking the validity of guests boarding the resort buses from Disney Springs. While we were on the property this last weekend and enjoyed a little resort-hopping, we didn’t visit Disney Springs. So we have not personally verified this information.
That being said, there have been enough reports to suggest that anyone visiting Disney Springs could run into this issue over the next week or two. This measure has likely been put in place due to high crowds visiting for a combination of Spring Break and Easter. We spent the last week visiting Walt Disney World with family, and I can assure you that crowds had picked up significantly more by the time we checked out on Sunday morning than when we had arrived the previous Sunday.

If you’re visiting Disney Springs from your resort hotel, you will likely be required to show your hotel reservation. This is typically done via the My Disney Experience app or by using your Keys to the World Card or a MagicBand. From my understanding, you must fall into one of the following criteria to board the bus back to your resort:
- Must be a resort hotel guest of the bus you’re boarding.
- And/or must have a confirmed dining reservation.
- And/or must have a confirmed recreational activity reservation.
While it is unfortunate, you probably won’t be allowed on the Disney Springs buses for the purposes of resort-hopping, unconfirmed dining, or shopping. Of course, it will be at the cast member’s discretion at the bus stop. Therefore, we would not recommend using Disney Springs as a transfer point during this time. This is not the first time this type of restriction has been in place, and we anticipate it being lifted again after the holiday season has passed.
Unfortunately, Walt Disney World rarely announces these types of details or adds a notice in the My Disney Experience app. Because of that, we do not have an exact timeline for how long this restriction will be in place. Things like this are typically found out through word-of-mouth, so we hope our report saves you a trip or helps you to plan if you have reason to visit the resorts in the next week or two.
