Where to Meet Bert and Mr. Penguin at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Bert meets guests daily with Mr Penguin at a location listed as Hollywood Boulevard near Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. They rotate this location intermittently throughout the day with Mary Poppins. This is currently the only traditional meet-and-greet for Bert at Disney World. We have, however, seen him strolling Main Street U.S.A. with Mary Poppins on several occasions as more of a surprise and delight offering. Below, we’ll discuss the specifics of meeting Bert and Mr. Penguin at Hollywood Studios.

Bert and Mr. Penguin pose for a photo

Bert and Mr. Penguin meet toward the front of the park near Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. On the day of our visit, they met guests on the right side of the hedge. It’s important to note that Jiminy Cricket and Pinocchio rotate a meet-and-greet on the left side of the hedge. So you’ll want to ensure you’re getting in the right line for the character you desire to meet.

You could also see Mary Poppins meeting guests when you arrive. When we first got in line, it was to meet Mary, but she left soon after. Then, Bert arrived with Mr. Penguin, and we ended up meeting the pair. After meeting Bert, we just got in line again and met Mary when she returned. Our best advice is to do the same or let the cast member know who you’re hoping to meet. They are good at helping out in these character swap situations.

Bert and Mr. Penguin both sign autographs at this location. Unfortunately, a PhotoPass photographer was not available, but the cast member attending the meet-and-greet offered to help take photos for guests with their personal devices. As always, if you want to meet Bert and Mr. Penguin at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you’ll need to check the My Disney Experience app for their exact times and location on the day of your visit. Here are our instructions for how to do so:

How to Locate Bert and Mr. Poppins in the My Disney Experience App

  • Open the My Disney Experience app and select the pin drop at the bottom of the home screen.
  • Scroll (left to right) through the icons at the top of the screen and select “Characters.”
  • After selecting characters, use the locations drop-down to select the park of your choice.
  • Then, on the bottom right of the screen, select “Show List.”
  • Scroll through the list of characters until you find Bert.*
  • Select the meet-and-greet, and you’ll see his location and times for the day.**
  • As an alternative, you can use the map view to locate characters.

*Bert is usually listed by himself in the app. You may or may not see Mr. Penguin.

**As the day passes, you might notice that characters disappear from the app. When their last scheduled time passes, the meet-and-greet automatically disappears. A new schedule won’t be loaded until the following day. It is essential to check the app for meet-and-greets on the day of your visit. Our screenshot tutorial below offers more details.
