Character Spotlight: Beast from ‘Beauty and the Beast’ at Walt Disney World

The Beast is the protagonist of Disney’s animated and live-action film, Beauty and the Beast. He makes daily appearances at multiple locations around Walt Disney World. While the Beast is relatively easy to see during a Disney vacation, he does not have a traditional character meet-and-greet. Below, we’ll discuss where you might find him in the parks and preview photos of places we’ve previously seen him.

Related Movies:

  • Beauty and the Beast (1991)
  • Beauty and the Beast Live-Action (2017)
  • Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas (1997)
  • Beauty and the Beast: Belle’s Magical World (1998)
  • Belle’s Tale of Friendship (1999)

Does the Beast have a regular character meet-and-greet at Walt Disney World? No.

Dining with the Beast:

  • The Beast regularly appears at Be Our Guest restaurant in New Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom Park. However, this restaurant is not considered character dining, and he is not guaranteed. He formerly met guests in the Armory at the end of the meal. On our last dining experience, he walked through each dining room twice so guests could see him. We were also given a card with his character’s autograph.

Other Places You Might See the Beast at Disney World:

  • The Beast appears daily in the Festival of Fantasy Parade at Magic Kingdom. He and Belle are on the first float in the parade.
  • He is part of Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This performance is a must-see for fans.
  • Beast appears with Belle on one of the barges in Fantasmic at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Seasonal:

  • The Beast rides on the princess float in Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade.

Timeline:

  • When Be Our Guest restaurant opened in 2012, the Beast met with guests at the end of the meal.
  • Fun Fact: Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage debuted at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on November 22, 1991. It opened on the same day the animated film debuted in theaters. The performance remains popular to this day.
