Donald Duck Surprises Guests on a Trick-or-Treat Trail at Mickey’s Halloween Party

While we love meeting characters at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, it’s nice to have the opportunity to meet a few without all the fuss of a long line. One of the options this year is seeing Donald Duck in his Halloween costume on the trick-or-treat trail at Mickey’s PhilharMagic. He’s wearing his traditional pumpkin suit and showing off his #1 sign everywhere he goes.

Mickey’s Philharmagic is immediately behind Cinderella Castle. It’s to the right side of the Prince Charming Regal Carousel, and might be one of the most overlooked locations at the party.

When you reach the inside, you’ll run into Donald if he’s out. He walks up and down the entire length of the queue, greeting guests. So if you don’t run into him on the first pass, keep going. You’ll bump into him again as you weave through the waiting area.

Donald is happy to give a quick hug and stop for a photo where possible. You’ll want to remember, though, that this is not a traditional meet-and-greet.

Once you’ve completed the length of the queue, a cast member will load your bag with candy. Then you can make your way through the theater and on to your next stop. While I have you here, though, I have one other tip. If at any time during the party you find yourself in need of a break or air-conditioning, this is the perfect place. You can sit in the theater and relax. They feature classic Disney Halloween cartoons, such as The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.

Once you’ve said hello to Donald, you might also like to stop in and see Maleficent and the Evil Queen at Princess Fairytale Hall. They are part of another trick-or-treat trail that doesn’t require much effort. As far as other characters on trails, we saw Romeo McGrowl when we walked through the Country Bear Musical Jamboree. Also, Cruella and Mother Gothel rotate the party entrance area on Market Street, which is open until 8:00 p.m.
