Geyser Point Bar & Grill Review
Geyser Point Bar and Grill is a lounge at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort that doubles as the resort’s pool bar. This unique location offers rustic fare in an open-air environment that’s simply picturesque. From the setting to the menu, it’s one of the most popular dining spots at Wilderness Lodge for both resort guests and visitors resort-hopping.
In this review of Geyser Point Bar and Grill, we’ll share our experience at the restaurant and reminisce about a few past meals. We’ll also discuss things you need to know if you’re staying at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, including the lounge’s counter service window, which is convenient for guests spending the day at the pool.
Geyser Point Bar and Grill is nestled along the shores of Bay Lake at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. The restaurant sits under a large covered pavilion behind the resort’s feature pool. The lounge area offers casual seating with oversized outdoor furniture, mostly tables and chairs. A large bar sits in the center of the space, providing additional seating on both sides. Elements like stacked stone and large beams contribute to the restaurant’s design. Several flat-screen televisions are positioned around the bar area. This lounge-style restaurant offers a rustic vibe similar to the rest of the resort.

Geyser Point Bar and Gril FAQS
We see many questions regarding hours and reservations for this location. Here’s what you need to know:
Geyser Point Bar and Grill is typically open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. They serve appetizers, entrees, desserts, and cocktails. Food items are usually available until 10:00 p.m. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. The restaurant does not accept reservations. However, they do accept mobile orders. We have a separate write-up that shares some of the things we’ve mobile-ordered from Geyser Point.
If there is a wait, a cast member will take your mobile number and text you when a table is ready. We’ve eaten here many times, and the longest we’ve had to wait is approximately 15 minutes. Anyone can walk up to the bar and order a beverage. Since this location doubles as the pool bar, don’t be surprised to see pool guests picking up a cocktail.

How to Get to Geyser Point
You might also want to know how to get to this restaurant if you’re not staying at the Wilderness Lodge.

You can take the monorail to Magic Kingdom and then transfer to the boat dock or the bus stop. Additionally, you can take a boat from the Contemporary to the Wilderness Lodge from 3:00 p.m. until 10:45 p.m.
Other Resort Guests: Take a bus to Magic Kingdom and then take the boat or a bus to the Wilderness Lodge. You can also take a bus from any theme park or Disney Springs to the Wilderness Lodge.

About the Quick Service Window
The restaurant’s quick service window is one of the easiest places to overlook. It sits toward the back of the restaurant on the side closest to the pool. Guests can walk up to the window and order anything off the menu. However, you’ll want to walk up to the separate bar for cocktails.
If you place a mobile order, you’ll pick it up here. Additionally, a beverage refill station and a sink to rinse Rapid Fill mugs are available. You can see the beverage station in the photo below. This will be the closest place to refill a resort mug at the Wilderness Lodge from both resort pools.

Whether or not you’re staying at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, you might want to see the geyser erupt during your visit. Fire Rock Geyser is only a few steps away from the front of the restaurant. You can’t miss it. It erupts at the top of the hour between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. Below is a photo from one of our last visits when it erupted right before sunset.

Geyser Point is open to the elements on all four sides. Here is a photo taken from the lakeside, looking back to the table service portion of the restaurant.

At night, Geyser Point Bar and Grill shines like a candle in the distance. If you time things right, you’ll be able to see the nightly Electrical Water Pageant. Guests also walk out to the water’s edge to see Magic Kingdom’s fireworks. Audio for the fireworks performance is streamed over an outdoor speaker system.
Unfortunately, the view of the fireworks here isn’t the best. So don’t expect anything elaborate. However, sometimes it’s nice to experience the performance without all the crowds. Below is a photo of where guests stand to see them.

Perhaps Geyser Point’s best attribute is the ever-changing view of Bay Lake. Whether you dine here for lunch or dinner, the views are calming. Bay Lake Tower sits in the distance, which adjoins the Contemporary. You’ll see the fireworks just beyond the tower.

It is important to note that the temperature can get chilly, especially in the evening, from late October through early Spring. For example, the low 50s feel freezing. So remember to dress warmly on cooler evenings. The restaurant usually has space heaters out to provide extra heat. Additionally, they’ll offer a variety of warm beverages. I love those kinds of evenings.

Things We’ve Tried at Geyser Point
Geyser Point Bar and Grill has several popular menu items. Some menu items have been around since the place first opened, while other items rotate seasonally or are replaced by new additions. Here are a few things we’ve tried.
We’ll start with the Charcuterie Flatbread. It is described on the menu as salami, brisket, chorizo, bacon, and smoked Gouda beer cheese. It was pretty late in the afternoon when I ordered this item. I remember feeling famished because I had been busy taking photos and had forgotten to have lunch. I don’t know about you, but I get into the habit of always ordering the same thing. But that doesn’t suit this line of business. So I bit the bullet and decided to try the flatbread, even though I thought it sounded a little over the top for my taste buds.

It was delicious. The flavor was perfect, and the sweetness of the Balsamic glaze added the right amount of balance. However, the reduction was a little sticky. So grab extra napkins, especially if you’re taking it back to the room!

Next, we have the crispy salmon croquettes. These were similar to hush puppies but had delicate bites of salmon inside. Unfortunately, these are no longer on the menu. However, we have noticed that sometimes menu items are seasonal and tend to come and go.

On another visit, I ordered the grilled Portobello salad. I’ve had this salad a couple of times and prefer it with the grilled salmon topping. According to the menu, the salad consists of zucchini, roasted red peppers, squash, onions, multigrain, quinoa, and goat cheese dressing. For those looking for plant-based menu items, note that this same salad is available with a citrus vinaigrette.

Wow, it was a huge portion, packed with grilled and roasted veggies. I don’t know about you, but I’m all for a healthy, tasty meal that won’t leave you feeling guilty for eating it later. This salad was all that and then some. You can top it with steak, tofu, or salmon.

Here is the option with steak that we’ve enjoyed in more recent years.

Next, we have the Chipotle Barbecue Bison meatballs, which are another great option at this location. The menu describes this item as polenta with goat cheese and crispy onions. They have become quite the popular menu item.

On one of our first visits to Geyser Point, I had a fried chicken sandwich with waffle fries. This dish is a staple on the Geyser Point menu, and I highly recommend it. The sandwich makes for a nice meal, and the price is extremely reasonable, given the location and overall atmosphere.

Those looking for something a little more hearty might enjoy the bison cheeseburger. It’s one of the signature entree items. Geyser Point’s bison burger comes with crispy onion straws, a Marionberry sauce, and garlic aioli. This burger tends to get rave reviews. Personally, I thought it was a good burger, but it was nowhere near the signature prix fixe burger meal I had at Tiffins.

Overall, Geyser Point Bar and Grill is one of the best places to enjoy a casual meal at Walt Disney World. Whether you’re traveling alone or with a large family, we think a meal here is worthy of your vacation time. The location is excellent, the prices are reasonable, and the food is good. It’s also worth noting that we’ve always received excellent service here.
