Disney World Monthly Snapshot: October 2025
October is generally a fairly busy month at Walt Disney World. Crowds tend to arrive for Fall break during the earlier portions of the month. Columbus Day falls on Monday, October 13, 2025, and this long weekend tends to bring in extra visitors.
Additionally, the 2025 Disney Wine and Dine Half-Marathon weekend takes place between October 23rd and the 26th. If you’re visiting during this time, you can expect an influx of guests who will be participating in various runs throughout the weekend. Halloween, this year, falls on a Saturday. It’s a coin toss on whether or not the parks will be busy. Notably, the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party that’s offered on Halloween is one of the first events to sell out each year.
Regarding the weather in October, it varies. You can expect hot days in the low 90s to cooler evenings in the 70s. It’s still hurricane season, which means you’ll want to keep an eye on the weather. Rain showers will likely remain part of the forecast, but you might not have the daily afternoon rain shower every day of your vacation. Of course, we can’t predict the weather. These tips are only from our experience, both visiting and living in the area.
This is the last month to experience Halloween decorations at Magic Kingdom. We have a complete photo post of the Halloween decor on Main Street USA in 2025. You might also enjoy our entire guide to Halloween at Disney World. It includes details about everything you can expect to experience at the parks, resorts, and Disney Springs.

As mentioned in the past two months, you’ll want to be aware of party nights at Magic Kingdom. Magic Kingdom closes at 6:00 p.m. to the general public on these select evenings. There are advantages and disadvantages when visiting the Magic Kingdom on a party date. As far as negatives, the park closes early. So if this is your only day at Magic Kingdom, we recommend choosing a non-party date. It would be a shame not to see the fireworks or explore the park after sunset. That said, if you have more than one day to spend at Magic Kingdom or have the park-hopper ticket, you might prefer to take advantage of lower crowds on a party date. While there are no guarantees, the party dates tend to be significantly slower at Magic Kingdom because not everyone is willing to burn their ticket on a day when the park closes early.
We have listed the party dates for October below to help you plan. Another big note is that Magic Kingdom closes early on October 21st. This is not a party night, but rather some other sort of private event. You can treat it the same way as you might a regular party night.
If you’re attending a party, we have a tremendous amount of coverage for this year’s event. We attended two parties this year to provide updates for our readers. Our 2025 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Guide is the best place to start. If you’re a character fan, our list of characters for the 2025 Halloween Party provides an overview of what to expect.
October also means the sun will be setting a little earlier each day. This might affect showtimes for the nighttime parade and fireworks at Magic Kingdom. If seeing these things is important to you, you’ll want to check the schedule beforehand. For example, the fireworks might be offered at 9:00 or 10:00 p.m. in the summer months, then shift back to 8:00 or 8:30 in the fall and winter. These times can easily be checked in the My Disney Experience app (entertainment section) on the day of your visit.
Here’s what we have so far for October.
