Where to Meet Moana at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
After our snafu meeting Mirabel and Bruno, we continued over to Adventureland to check out what else was going on at the party. When we passed by Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room, I noticed that Moana’s meet-and-greet looked fairly empty. So I thought to myself, why not?
Of course, we’ve met Moana here at past holiday parties. We used to try to cover all of the character meet-and-greets at each party, but with so many long lines, it’s difficult. So now, I try to pick a handful of meet-and-greets and work them in as best as possible. That way, we can provide our readers with an idea of what to expect and some fresh photos of the characters. It had been a few years since I last met Moana here, and it turned out to be a great opportunity to meet her because she was wearing a unique outfit!
That said, depending on the temperature, you might find her here in regular costume. You see, it was in the 40s-50s on the night we attended the party this year. So it was too cold for the typical Wayfinder look. She was wearing a poncho cape trimmed with a Polynesian floral print. The cape was lined with fringe, and her moccasins matched. If you look closely, you might even notice the shell details on her shoes.
The Enchanted Tiki Room sits in the center of Adventureland. The attraction is not open during the Christmas party, so the queue is used as a meet-and-greet.
It’s a fun queue and not the worst place to wait. It was 9:36 p.m. when we joined the line with about 5-8 guests ahead of us. We waited approximately 11 minutes to meet Moana. (That time includes Moana taking a short break right before our turn.)
A PhotoPass photographer was available at this meet-and-greet, and Moana is an autograph-signing character. You’ll want to have any autograph books out and ready for her to sign before your turn. Here are a few more photos.
This meet-and-greet is listed on the party map and shows up in the My Disney Experience app. Here are our instructions on how to use the app to locate her exact times on your party night.
How to Locate Characters in the My Disney Experience App
- Open the My Disney Experience app and select the pin drop at the bottom of the home screen.
- Scroll (left to right) through the icons at the top of the screen and select “Characters.”
- After selecting characters, use the locations drop-down to select the park of your choice.
- Then, on the bottom right of the screen, select “Show List.”
- Scroll through the list of characters with their times and locations.
- As an alternative, you can use the map view to locate characters.
*As the evening passes, you might notice that characters disappear from the app. When their last scheduled time passes, the meet-and-greet automatically disappears.
