Disney’s All-Star Music Resort Pool Guide (Photos and Amenities)
If you’re planning a stay at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort, you might want to take advantage of one or both of the resort’s pools. All-Star Music offers two pools for guests to enjoy: the Calypso Pool and the Piano Pool. Below, we’ll discuss hours of operation, complimentary amenities, and a few other aspects you’ll want to know ahead of time. That said, there is one important thing to note upfront. All-Star Music is a value resort. So, unfortunately, you won’t find any extras like a water slide or hot tub at either of the resort’s pools. If you’re hoping for those kinds of upgrades, you’ll want to consider a moderate or deluxe resort.
As a resort guest, you can use any of the pools at the All-Star Resorts (Movies, Sports, or Music). You might prefer, however, to choose a pool based on your room location. Or, if you’re spending an entire day or evening at the pool, you might like to take advantage of the amenities offered at the resort’s feature pool.
As far as the resort’s pools go, the Calypso Pool is considered the resort’s feature pool. It’s shaped like a guitar. The Piano Pool is designed to look like a baby grand piano. Both pools are on point with the resort’s “music” theming. While both pools are fun, the Calypso pool is the largest. That said, the kids can still have plenty of fun at either pool.

Pool Hours at Disney’s All-Star Music
Before we preview the pools, let’s discuss a few need-to-know details. For starters, pool hours at Walt Disney World are pretty similar, no matter which resort you pick. The pools at Disney’s All-Star Music are typically open from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. from Labor Day to around Memorial Day. During the summer months, the pool hours are usually extended until 11:00 p.m.
Those hours might be reduced if you visit when the temperature drops below 60ish degrees. The pools at Disney World are heated to 82 degrees. So, for the most part, the water temperature is comfortable, especially if you’re visiting from a colder climate.
Note that both pools at All-Star Music (and the other All-Stars) are open the same hours. Some of the larger resorts have quiet pools that are open longer hours than the feature pools. That is not the case at any of the value resorts because all of the pools usually have life guard attendents.

We receive many questions about whether you should pack towels for the pool. The short answer is no. Pools are provided at each pool at Disney’s All-Star Music and at every other pool at Walt Disney World. So there is no need to take up the extra space in your luggage. Guests can grab as many towels as they like at the pool. (Complimentary towels are also provided to resort guests at Disney’s Water Parks. So you won’t need them there either!)
Each pool offers life jackets in various sizes. Pool lifts are also available for guests with disabilities or limited mobility. (Per Disney: Pool hours and lifeguard availability vary by pool and are subject to change.) Additionally, you’ll find a restroom with a changing area and other amenities like showers and toiletries near the feature pool.

The Calypso Pool
All-Star Music’s feature pool is the Calypso Pool. It features Disney characters from The Three Caballeros, including Donald Duck, Jose Carioca, and Panchito Pistoles. Larger than life, maracas and bongos surround the whopping 251,418-gallon pool. This pool sits directly behind the lobby and is surrounded by the Calypso section of the resort. Calypso is home to the resort’s family suites and preferred rooms.

A water feature sits in the middle of the pool, featuring The Three Caballeros.

It might be hard to tell, but the pool is shaped like a guitar.

The Calypso ranges between 3′ and 5′ deep (three to five feet). The handle portion of the guitar-shaped pool is relatively shallow, at three feet deep. However, closer to the water feature, the pool reaches its deepest point at five feet. Both pools at Disney’s All-Star Music have lifeguard attendants.

A kiddie pool sits directly behind the guitar handle at the back of the pool. This area is exceptionally shallow.

Here is a photo that shows the layout of the pool area.

Several table games are available near the pool.

Here are a few more photos of the pool.

Singing Spirits Pool Bar
The Singing Spirits Pool Bar is near the pool. It’s in an area outside the pool that backs up to the food court. Singing Spirits Bar offers Disney’s standard cocktail menu, along with wine, beer, and other beverages. But if you’re looking for quick service items, you can pick something up at Intermission Court. Snacks and beverages are available in Maestro Mickey, the resort’s gift shop off Melody Hall.

Recreation
During the afternoons, cast members provide various recreational activities for anyone who wants to participate. They’ll play games like Disney Trivia or Name That Disney Tune. They do an excellent job of getting children to participate. Over the years, I have found that for most children, days at the pool tend to be the highlight of the trip. Movies under the Stars are also held at the Calypso Pool several times weekly. You’ll want to take a photo of the resort’s recreation calendar on arrival.

The Piano Pool
After you walk through the Jazz Inn section of the resort, you’ll run directly into the Piano Pool. This pool sits in the center of Rock Inn, Broadway Hotel, and Country Fair.

Musical notes are stamped on the concrete around the pool.

This pool is shaped like a baby grand piano. One side of the pool is lined with tile resembling black and white piano keys.

Ariel, Sebastian, and Flounder add a touch of Disney theming to the area. However, this is not to be confused with the Flippin’ Fins Pool at Disney’s Art of Animation.

We have stayed at All-Star Music many times and find that this pool is often less crowded than the feature pool. Towels, changing areas, life jackets, and laundry facilities are available at this pool.

Lifeguards are also present at the Piano Pool. Unfortunately, this pool isn’t located near any dining options.

A ping-pong table sits on the pool deck near the life jackets.

Final Thoughts
All-Star Music is a charming resort with two lyric-worthy pools. We’ve always enjoyed our time at the resort and the pools! When it comes to choosing between the All-Stars, the pools are pretty much the same. The only difference is the theming. For instance, the pools at All-Stars Sports have sports theming, and the pools at All-Stars Movies have movie references. Again, these resorts are all connected, so you can use any of the pools if you desire.
