Transportation Options at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort

As we discussed, you’ll have one option when it comes to transportation at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort:

• Disney’s Bus Service

*Unfortunately, you cannot walk from the All-Star Sports to a theme park. But you can walk between All-Star Sports, Music, and Movies Resorts.

Below is a photo that shows the jogging trail in a dotted line. The lavender line shows how we usually walk between the resorts. You’ll have to cross the parking lot between Music and Sports, but it’s a straight shot.

All-Star Sports Bus Schedule

Disney’s All-Star Sports has a dedicated queue for each of the following destinations:

• Magic Kingdom
• Epcot
• Disney’s Hollywood Studios
• Disney’s Animal Kingdom
• Disney Springs
• Typhoon Lagoon
• Blizzard Beach
• ESPN Wide World of Sports**

**You’ll want to check with the resort during your visit to learn more about scheduled transportation to ESPN Wide World of Sports. Often, the All-Star Sports host large groups of student-athletes who travel to and from this venue for competitions.

Per Disney, “Bus service between Disney Resort Hotels and Disney Theme Parks begins 45 minutes prior to opening and ends one hour after closing.” That time includes extended theme park hours in the morning for resort guests and extended evening hours for deluxe resort guests.

Does All-Star Sports Share Buses?

Yes and no. Sorry, that’s not a definite answer, but it depends on various factors. We try to stay at every Walt Disney World Resort at least once every two years. This keeps us up-to-date on any changes.

Our experience (consistently) has been that buses run on this type of schedule:

• Mornings (Buses were not shared with other resorts.)
• Late Mornings through Early Evenings (Buses were shared with other resorts.)
• After 5:00 p.m. (Buses were not shared with other resorts.)

The bus routes take longer when they stop at each resort. Is it a big difference? No, all of the resorts are near each other. It’s also less likely that many people are waiting at the bus stop during the slower times of the day. Don’t be surprised if you visit during a high crowd time and see an extended bus at the bus stop. They hold twice the load of a usual bus!

Disney’s All-Star Sports to Magic Kingdom

You’ll take a bus from Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort to Magic Kingdom. At the end of your visit, you’ll return to All-Star Sports in the same manner. If you plan to visit any destination early in the morning, expect a long line at the bus stop. However, we have found that Disney usually has multiple buses servicing the resort bus stops during the busier times of the day (early morning and late evening).

Disney’s All-Star Sports to Epcot

You’ll take a bus from All-Star Sports to Epcot. Then, you’ll return to the resort in the same manner. Wait times for the buses are posted at each resort bus stop. So you’ll have a good idea of when the next bus will arrive. These times are based on the bus’s proximity to the resort via a signal from its location. We have found the posted wait times for the next bus reasonably accurate. However, the time might fluctuate if the bus runs into traffic or stops at a light.

Disney’s All-Star Sports to Hollywood Studios

You’ll travel to Disney’s Hollywood Studios from All-Star Sports via Disney’s bus service and return the same way. You might notice in the picture below that each bus stop has a chain-link queue. You’ll want to be careful and make sure children don’t try to jump the queue or straddle it. (I am the mother of a child who face-planted the concrete doing this before I could stop him.) If there isn’t a long line for the bus, we like to hang back in the shade and wait on one of the benches.

Disney’s All-Star Sports to Disney Springs

Traveling to Disney Springs, you’ll also need to take a bus from the All-Star Sports Resort. The bus stop is between Town Center and the West Side when you leave. You can take a shortcut via a narrow walkway on the far side of Wolfgang Puck Bar and Grill that leads to the bus stop. Or you can take the walkway between the Coca-Cola Store and the Orange Parking Garage.

Disney’s All-Star Sports to Disney Water Parks

It is rare to see direct bus service to and from Disney’s Water Parks. When Blizzard Beach is open, you’ll take a bus from All-Star Sports to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. From there, you’ll find the bus stop that provides a transfer bus to Blizzard Beach. You’ll return to All-Star Sports the same way.

For Typhoon Lagoon, you’ll take a bus from All-Star Sports to Disney Springs. From there, you’ll take a transfer bus to Typhoon Lagoon across the street. However, when you return to Disney Springs from Typhoon Lagoon, you’ll have to locate the return bus stop to All-Star Sports. We find the return trip to be a bit of a hassle.

You’ll want to pack a change of clothes and give yourself time to dry out for the ride back. The buses are freezing, and you’ll join guests at the bus stop who are coming from Disney Springs.

Tip: Often, when we’re on property, we have a car, so we’ll drive to and from the water park. However, if you don’t have a car, you might consider taking the bus to the water park and returning via a Minnie Van or a car service.

Disney’s All-Star Sports to Other Disney Resorts

Lastly, I wanted to discuss the best ways to get to a few popular resort destinations for touring or dining reservations. I don’t know about you, but we love resort-hopping.

Disney’s All-Star Sports to the Monorail Resorts

Guests regularly visit the monorail resorts for dining or touring. To do this, you can take a bus from Disney’s All-Star Sports to Magic Kingdom.

From there, you will have to walk through security at Magic Kingdom. Then you can walk, boat, or monorail to the following resorts:

• Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort (walk, boat, monorail)
• Disney’s Polynesian Resort (boat, monorail, technically can walk via the Grand Floridian walkway to Magic Kingdom and continue to the Poly)
• Disney’s Contemporary Resort (walk or monorail)

Disney’s All-Star Sports to Disney’s Boardwalk

If you’re traveling to Disney’s Boardwalk or the other Epcot Resorts (Beach Club, Yacht Club, and the Swan and Dolphin), you can take a bus from All-Star Sports to Hollywood Studios.

From Hollywood Studios, you can walk to the Boardwalk or take a Friendship Boat. You’ll want to return to All-Star Sports in the same manner. However, if you’re staying out past theme park hours, you might have to order a car service if the buses are no longer running.

Those would be pretty late hours to keep. But the Boardwalk does have a few places geared toward adults that are open relatively late.

Disney’s All-Star Sports to Wilderness Lodge or Fort Wilderness

You can also take a bus to Magic Kingdom for Wilderness Lodge or Fort Wilderness. Once you arrive at Magic Kingdom, take a bus or a boat to either resort.

*During inclement weather, you’ll need to take a bus from Magic Kingdom to Wilderness Lodge or Fort Wilderness. Hopefully, you’ll get to take the boat, though. It’s a pleasant ride and part of the fun.

Disney’s All-Star Sports to the Skyliner Resorts

If you want to ride the Disney Skyliner (for leisure), take a bus from All-Star Sports to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and board the Skyliner. We have a separate guide that details the route. Disney’s All-Star Sports to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

If you visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, you can take a bus from All-Star Sports to the theme park. Then, board a bus to Animal Kingdom Lodge. Animal Kingdom Lodge has two stops, Kidani Village and Jambo House. So you’ll want to know which stop you want before you get there.

Disney’s All-Star Sports to the Resorts near Disney Springs

If you want to visit one of the resorts near Disney Springs, you can take a bus from All-Star Sports to Disney Springs. You’ll have these options:

• Walk or take a water taxi from the Disney Springs Marketplace to Disney’s Saratoga Springs.
• Take a water taxi from the Disney Springs Marketplace to Old Key West Resort, Port Orleans-French Quarter, or Port Orleans-Riverside.

If you do not want to walk across Disney Springs to the Marketplace and boat to these resorts, an alternative would be to take a bus to Hollywood Studios (during hours of operation) and then take a bus to that resort.

Accessibility at Disney’s All-Star Sports

A separate waiting area is available for those in wheelchairs and ECVS. You’ll want to wait in this area so the bus driver can quickly identify you upon arrival. The bus driver will board you before allowing anyone else on the bus. Then your family will get to board first. This ensures that you aren’t separated from your party. Upon arrival, all guests will exit the bus. Then, the bus driver will lower the ramp so you can exit.
