Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Buses (Schedule, Stops, and Average Routes)

One of the perks of staying at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is having complimentary transportation to and from the theme parks and Disney Springs. While you’ll find a variety of transportation options at the resort, some destinations require a bus ride. So for this article, we’ll focus specifically on the bus system, including average travel times, internal bus stops, and what to expect during your stay.

While we can’t predict how long you’ll wait for a bus, we’ve tracked multiple routes to provide real travel time averages from Disney’s Polynesian to destinations that require a bus route. Bus service is the only option from the resort to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney Springs.

It’s also important to know that the Polynesian often shares bus service to these destinations with Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. Therefore, you’ll have an extra stop on the way to the parks, but you’ll be the first drop-off on the return trip. This is how the routes work:

  • Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort (1st Stop)
  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort (2nd Stop)
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Destination)

The return trip looks like this:

  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Board Bus)
  • Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort (1st Stop)
  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort (2nd Stop)

*Extra buses are usually available to the theme parks first thing in the morning. So, you might not always have that extra stop. (See Disney Resorts that Share Bus Services if you want to learn more.)

Important Observations

The bus stop at Disney’s Polynesian Resort is to the left when you exit the Great Ceremonial House’s front entrance. It sits directly under the monorail tracks. A few pavilions are available, but the surrounding area is not covered. So, if it’s raining, you’ll have a decent outdoor walk to the lobby or your building.

It’s also important to note that bus service is not provided from the Polynesian to Magic Kingdom or Epcot. For Magic Kingdom, you can walk, boat, or take the monorail. For Epcot, you must take the monorail.

Average Bus Travel Times from Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Here are our average travel times for the bus service at Disney’s Polynesian. It’s important to note that our travel times do not include how long we waited for the bus. Wait time signs are posted at the resort bus stop, indicating when the next bus will arrive. The times below are how long it takes to get between the resort and the destination. They are the average of several trips and do not consider extenuating circumstances like significant traffic.
