Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Magnolia Bend Room Tour (Photos)
Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside is an expansive resort with numerous rooms. We recently enjoyed a stay in one of the newly renovated rooms in the Magnolia Bend section of the resort, also commonly referred to as the manions. How new was our room? The building had just opened a couple of days before our stay. We were among the first guests to enjoy the new rooms in the Magnolia Terrace building. Below, we’ll preview the updates, review the room’s amenities, and discuss some tips to help make the most out of your stay.

For reference, we were assigned room number 8930 on the 3rd floor of Magnolia Terrace (building 85). Again, this room was in Magnolia Bend. We have a separate tour of the rooms in the Alligator Bayou section of the resort. Those rooms are entirely different and sleep up to five guests.
We booked a standard view room with two queen beds to ensure we received a room assignment in Magnolia Bend. Then, I drove over to the resort early that morning to request an updated room. Room renovations in this area of the resort are expected to be completed by the end of February 2026.
Our room had a standard view that faced the courtyard in front of Magnolia Terrace. Since moderate resort room categories change in early 2026, the view won’t matter so much. Disney has dropped the current room view upgrades for more simplified options. Any room assignments after January 1st will be one of the following:
- Standard Room
- Preferred Location
- King-Size Bed
- Fifth Sleeper
- Royal Guest Room
Here is a photo of our standard room. I have to commend the resort for a job well done with these updates.

We’ll start at the front corner of the room. This area features a window that looks out to the exterior walkway that wraps around the third floor. Since Port Orleans Riverside is a moderate category resort, it does not have interior hallways. This is also the reason why a view doesn’t matter so much at this type of resort.

Near the door, you might notice a place to hang jackets or other clothing items. These things always tend to come in handy on our vacations.

Toward the front of the room, you’ll find a table with two chairs, providing a place to enjoy a meal or get some work done if necessary. The signage sitting on the table indicates when guests will receive housekeeping. Before your arrival, the room received a full turnover. Then, you’ll receive full service every other day for the remainder of your stay, starting on day three. If you need any extras, such as towels, toiletries, or trash removal, contact housekeeping, and they will take care of it.

The room features a few pieces of artwork from Disney’s animated film The Princess and the Frog.

Here’s a closer look at each piece, starting with a portrait of Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen.

Here is Tiana as a child with her parents.

Then we have a photo of Tiana with Charlotte La Bouff as they read and daydream about happily ever afters.

We’ll turn our attention to the two queen beds.

Each bed has recessed lighting overhead.

The headboards are padded, and a decorative pillow adds a pop of color to the minimal design.

The artwork above each headboard represents the bayou. It creates the perfect balance to the overall subtle look and feel of the room. Many guests expect a touch of Disney in their rooms, and I think most will be happy with these updates.

Here’s a closer look at the padded headboard and the reading lights that extend from each side.

A decorative sconce is between the two beds.

Here is a photo of the artwork above the other headboard.

You’ll find multiple lights and a fan switch between the beds. So you can easily turn the lights on and off from bed.

Our room had a Hey Disney! device. We usually unplug the cord at the back of it so we won’t be bothered by the extra light from the screen. A pamphlet is available that shares how you can use it.

A sliding panel door separates the bedroom from the bath area.

Across the room, we have the dresser area. A flat screen television hangs above it.

In the corner, you’ll find a nook with shelves.

Each room has an ice bucket and a couple of plastic cups. Ice machines are available on each floor near the elevator. Elevators are located in the center of each building in Magnolia Bend. You’ll want to note that buildings in the Alligator Bayou section of Port Orleans Riverside do not have elevators.

Rooms have an individual cup Cuisinart coffee maker with creamers, sweeteners, Twinings tea bags, and Joffrey’s coffee. (See our guide to coffee options at Port Orleans Riverside for more details.)

This area has a few more pieces of The Princess and the Frog-themed artwork.

An in-room safe is available to store your valuables.

Storage options include six drawers in addition to the closet area.

Here is a mini-beverage cooler. Per the label, these are desgined to cool items up to 41 degrees. We used ours to chill a few sodas and bottled waters, and it worked well for that purpose.

Our room has solid surface flooring.

Here is another look at the sliding door in the open position. These doors are pretty much identical to the rooms at Port Orleans French Quarter, the boutique moderate resort that’s adjacent to Riverside.

It allows for a little extra privacy. An additional door in the bathroom separates the water closet from the vanity area.

All moderate and deluxe resort bathrooms have a vanity with two sinks. If you stay at a value resort, you’ll only have one sink.

Here is a closer look at the vanity area, which has a ledge and outlets above it. Then, underneath, there’s a large shelf with more storage space and a pull-out step for little ones who need a boost to brush their teeth.

The bath’s tile flooring complements the rest of the design.

Our room had a walk-in shower.

Here’s a closer look.

The shower had a detachable showerhead, which helps when bathing little ones.

Built-in toiletries include shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

A standard hair dryer is available along with an iron and ironing board.

A luggage rack is also available in the closet area.

Here are a few final angles of the room.

Overall, these rooms definitely solicit a wow from us. If you don’t believe me, you can preview the former rooms here and compare the before and after looks for yourself. For more on Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside, you might enjoy the following:
