Bay Lake Tower Pool to Close for Lengthy Refurbishment in 2026
Disney has announced that the Bay Cove Pool at Bay Lake Tower will close for a lengthy refurbishment in 2026. Bay Lake Tower is the Disney Vacation Club that sits adjacent to Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The entire resort is undergoing a room refurbishment along with other dates. Here is the official wording for the upcoming pool project:
From January 26, 2026 to early May 2026, the Bay Cove Pool, the water play area and the whirlpool spa at Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will temporarily be closed for maintenance. The Bay Lake Pool, the feature pool, the water play area, and the whirlpool spa at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will remain open for Guests to enjoy.

If you plan a stay at Bay Lake Tower during this time, you’ll want to know about this closure. As you may know, the Bay Cove Pool is restricted to guests of Bay Lake Tower. Guests of Disney’s Contemporary cannot access it. So the pool, while busy, is often less crowded than the Contemporary’s feature pool.
Of course, Bay Lake Tower is undergoing a complete room renovation, which is expected to be completed by September 2025. Some newly renovated rooms have recently debuted and are now available. Therefore, if you’re planning to stay in early 2026 to check out the new rooms, make sure you’re aware that the tower’s immediate pool likely won’t be available.
