Resort Refurbishment Prolonged to 2027 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
If you have plans to visit Disney’s Contemporary Resort within the next couple of years, you’ll want to be aware that the resort refurbishment has been extended through late 2027. Previously, the announcement showed an end date for the work to be completed in July 2026. Here is the new announcement:
Refurbishments will occur in phases throughout select areas of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, including the atrium and Bay Lake Tower. Guests may also see and hear construction during their stay.
Refurbishment Dates: September 2024 Through Late 2027
The previous resort refurbishment announcement was similar, but we did notice a few distinctions between them. The new announcement (above) mentioned the atrium, which was not part of the former announcement. Additionally, the older announcement (below) mentioned the Convention Center, which is not specifically noted in the new announcement. Here is the older announcement for reference.
Refurbishments will occur in select areas of Disney’s Contemporary Resort—including Bay Lake Tower and the Convention Center. Please allow for extra travel time. Guests may also see and hear construction during their stay.
Refurbishment Dates: September 2024 through July 2026
At this time, there is no mention as to what this prolonged refurbishment will entail. This is one of several new and extended refurbishments at the resorts. In case you missed it, we recently shared a new refurbishment announcement for Disney’s Boardwalk that will last through 2026. We also shared notice of a temporary boat suspension at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge in January 2026, as the boat dock is scheduled to undergo work.
Additionally, you might want to be aware that the Bay Cove Pool is scheduled to undergo refurbishment between January through early May 2026. That notice has been posted for some time, but will begin after the first of the year. Bay Lake Tower is adjacent to the Contemporary.
