Fort Wilderness Pool Expansion Expected to Be Complete by Mid-2026
Disney has announced that the pool expansion taking place at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort will wrap up by mid-2026. You may remember that construction began on the new pool area back last May. As of this update, we know that a brand new zero-entry pool and deck are being added to the existing pool area. Per Disney, it will double the space guests have to enjoy. Some of the surrounding land will be converted to new tennis courts and two new pickleball courts. Here is the new announcement.
From early May 2025 through mid-2026, construction will take place near the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool area. The Meadow Swimmin’ Pool and Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool will remain open for Guests to enjoy. During this time, seating availability around the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool may be limited and Guests may see or hear construction in the area. Guests using bus transportation should follow posted signage to reach the pool area.
Refurbishment Dates: May 2025 through mid-2026
We visited Fort Wilderness last month to provide a photo report of the pool construction. Given the location and the fact that fences were installed around most of the existing pool area, we could not see much. You may also recall that a new resort, Lakeshore Lodge, is being built immediately next door to the Settlement area of Fort Wilderness.
