Retired: Two-Bedroom Villa at Disney’s Bay Lake Tower
This article shares photos of the former style of a two-bedroom villa at Disney’s Bay Lake Tower. The rooms at this Disney Vacation Club Resort were last updated between 2024 and 2025. This room tour is now part of our retired room archives.
If you’re looking for a place large enough to spread out during your Disney vacation, staying in one of the villa resorts is a no-brainer. And if you want to get as close to the magic as possible, you might want to consider a two-bedroom villa at Bay Lake Tower. In this article, we’ll take a photo tour of Bay Lake Tower’s two-bedroom villa. Additionally, we’ll look at the difference between a dedicated two-bedroom and a two-bedroom lock-off villa.
Bay Lake Tower is a Disney Vacation Club Resort (DVC) that sits next to Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The tower is connected to the Contemporary via a bridge on the fourth floor. Guests of Bay Lake Tower have access to all of the amenities at the Contemporary.
We’ll start with the dedicated two-bedroom villa that sleeps up to nine guests. This unit offers one king-size bed, two queen-size beds, one queen-size sofa sleeper, and one sleeper chair.
You’re first greeted by the large, open living space when you enter the room.
There’s a banquette with a dining table along the wall. A flat-screen television hangs over a cabinet that provides storage underneath.
The kitchen is compartmentalized into one corner. A small island that seats two guests anchors the space between the kitchen and dining area.
The kitchen offers everything you would expect to find. There’s a full-size refrigerator, sink, and a few small appliances sitting on the counter.
Additionally, there’s a stovetop with an oven and a built-in microwave overhead.
The kitchen is open to the living room. That oversized sofa chair in the living area pulls out to make a single bed.
And this sofa converts to a queen-size bed.
When you first enter the villa, there are two doorways in the foyer area. One opens up to this full-size bath. One of the nicer features of the two-bedroom villa at Bay Lake Tower is its three full-size baths.
So guests staying in each bedroom have their own bath. And guests staying in the converted living room sleepers also have their own bath.
Since I find this somewhat hard to explain, I downloaded a picture of the room’s layout from the DVC site here. This should give you a better idea of how the space works.
Additionally, the washer and dryer units are located off the foyer.
On one side of the villa, there’s the primary bedroom. This room offers a king-size bed, dresser, desk area, and balcony. The room views at Bay Lake Tower are standard, theme park, or lake view.
The master bath in the two-bedroom villa has a bit of a unique setup. On one side, there’s a large jetted tub. Then, above the tub, there’s a sliding panel you can open to let extra light into the space.
This bath is split into two separate rooms. The other portion is the water closet with a walk-in shower. Having a split bath allows multiple guests to get ready at the same time.
On the opposite side of the villa is the secondary bedroom. This bedroom offers two queen-size beds and a full balcony.
Additionally, the room has a standard bath. However, in this setup, the vanity is located in a separate space from the rest of the bath.
I would much prefer the dedicated two-bedroom villa over the lock-off option if it were me. Let me tell you why.
Two-Bedroom with Lock-Off Option
The only difference between a two-bedroom and a two-bedroom lock-off is the secondary bedroom. A dedicated two-bedroom has two queen beds in the second bedroom, similar to a hotel room.
However, the lock-off is a combination of a one-bedroom villa and a deluxe studio. Therefore, the secondary bedroom is a deluxe studio. Instead of having two queen beds, the lock-off will have a queen-size bed and a sofa sleeper.
For those who will utilize both beds in the second bedroom, keep in mind that a regular bed is much more comfortable than a sofa sleeper. These couch beds are okay for a night or two, but after that, they get pretty uncomfortable.
You may remember I recently spent several nights on one and have no plans to do that again. And after sleeping on one myself, it made me feel guilty for the times my son slept on one in the past.

Additionally, the lock-off bedroom has a built-in kitchenette between the bedroom and the bath area. I do not care for this layout at all. The rooms are tiny, and since you already have a kitchen in the two-bedroom, this seems like wasted space.
Additionally, the guest bath on the studio side of the room is much smaller. It’s because the kitchen takes a ton of square footage away from both the bath and the guest room.
The bath only has a small vanity. Unfortunately, there’s hardly any counter space.
And for these reasons, I prefer the dedicated two-bedroom villa with two queen-size beds and a larger bath. Sure, lots of guests love this deluxe studio layout. But from my experience, the room feels small and chopped up.
Hopefully, this article provided you with a good overview of the two-bedroom villas at Bay Lake Tower. I enjoy staying at Bay Lake Tower, just not in a deluxe studio. You can’t beat being able to walk to the Magic Kingdom. The location is undeniably excellent.
