Disney’s Riviera Resort Two-Bedroom Villa with Lock-Off Option

A two-bedroom villa at Disney’s Riviera Resort has two options: standard or a lock-off. This article will discuss the differences between the options and preview photos of the lock-off unit at the Riviera.

It’s important to note that these units are primarily the same except for a few nuances. Two-bedroom lock-offs combine a one-bedroom villa and a deluxe studio villa. A door is available between the deluxe studio and the living space of the one-bedroom that allows them to be connected. Disney uses the lock-off unit based on demand.

A regular two-bedroom is the same unit, except it has a standard hotel room with two queen-size beds instead of the deluxe studio. So, a regular two-bedroom will not have the extra kitchenette and single pull-down that comes with the deluxe studio.

If you’re confused, no worries. It will make more sense as we preview the photos. All of the Disney Vacation Club Resorts have a similar setup.

It’s also important to note that all one and two-bedroom units are similar. However, the three-bedroom grand villa is entirely different in layout and design. Here is a list of amenities you can expect to find in a two-bedroom lock-off:

• Preferred View (Views of Courtyard, Lake, Landscaping, Pool, or Skyliner)
• Standard View (Offers Views of Parking Area)
• The primary bedroom features a king-size bed.
• The second bedroom has two queen beds and one single pull-down bed
• The living room features one queen pull-down bed and one single pull-down bed.
• This unit sleeps up to 9 adults.
• Two full baths
• Washer and Dryer
• Full Kitchen
• Dining Area
• Approximately 1250 square feet

When you enter the two-bedroom villa, you’re greeted by an open space with a kitchen, dining area, and living room.

To the immediate right, a doorway leads to the first bedroom. Pictured below is the deluxe studio portion of the lock-off. (If you were in a regular two-bedroom, this room would have two standard queen-size beds.)

This room features a pull-down queen-size bed, a traditional queen-size bed, and a pull-down single sleeper underneath the television. The pull-down queen retracts into the wall when it’s not in use, leaving a small sofa.

The single trundle bed folds nicely under the television area.

Since this room is a lock-off, it has a separate kitchenette.

One of the things we love most about staying in the deluxe studio is the split bath. One side of the bath offers a tub, a shower combination, and a large vanity area.

The opposite side of the bath has a walk-in shower. You might also notice the high-end finishes. The rooms are a step above other resorts at Walt Disney World.

A sizeable closet is home to extra pillows, an iron, an ironing board, a safe, and a luggage stand.

Returning to the main living space, we run into another closet with a stackable washer and dryer. The one, two, and three-bedroom units at Disney’s Riviera Resort have a washer and dryer. A separate laundry room is available for guests who stay in a deluxe or tower studio.

Another closet on the other side of the laundry room has the same items we saw in the studio.

The opposite side of the two-bedroom villa is home to the primary suite.

This bedroom has a king bed, a reading chair, and a desk in the corner. All three rooms in the two-bedroom suite offer a balcony.

The master bath is tremendous. This area offers an extended vanity with plenty of counter space.

The back of the bathroom has a separate door, making it easy for multiple people to get ready. Due to each bath being split, up to four guests could have access to a shower or bathtub simultaneously.

I don’t know about you, but I’ll take the one with the soaking tub. It’s the perfect place to relax after a long day in the theme parks.

Before we wrap things up, we’ll return to the main living space.

The living room sofa converts to a queen-size pull-down bed. Since we were on a resort tour, I didn’t take the time to pull it down. These convertible beds are a tremendous improvement over the former queen-size sleeper sofa in other DVC Resorts.

Underneath the living room television is another single pull-down bed.

A full-size kitchen is available. It has standard appliances like a stovetop, oven, built-in microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, and full-size sink. The cabinets have plenty of shelves with dinnerware, glassware, utensils, and cookware. As long as you bring the groceries, you’ll have everything you need to cook meals during your stay.

Other stocked items include paper towels, dish soap, and dishwasher detergent.

Overall, I enjoyed touring the two-bedroom villa at Disney’s Riviera Resort. This unit is an excellent option for those traveling with a larger group who need a little space to spreadout. We are mainly a smaller group, so we rarely need these larger accommodations. But it’s always nice to see them.

This room would work well for multi-generational groups with older adults who would prefer to spend more time in the room than the rest of the family. With these accommodations, you wouldn’t feel bad leaving them like you might if they spent most of the day in a standard hotel room.
