Year-Round Holiday Celebrations at Walt Disney World

Whether you’re visiting Disney World over the Christmas holidays, Halloween, Easter, New Year’s Eve, or even the Fourth of July, the parks and resorts offer plenty of extras. Holiday celebrations often include seasonal decorations, special entertainment, and other limited-time offerings.

To help you plan, we’ve organized our seasonal content by each major holiday. Of course, you will naturally experience decorations in the parks and resorts during most holidays. Those extras will just be part of the package. But if you’re hoping to add a little icing on the cake, you might go out of your way (or even out of pocket) to experience some unique items that are only offered during your visit. We’ll leave that up to you. Just remember that it would be almost impossible to do everything on a regular visit. So don’t feel like you have to do anything extra if it doesn’t work with your schedule. As always, it’s important to prioritize the things that are most important to your travel party.

Below, we’ve organized our holiday content by event to help plan your seasonal visit.

Christmas at Walt Disney World

Disney World goes all out for the Christmas holidays, offering festive experiences at all four theme parks, the resort hotels, and Disney Springs. You can expect seasonal decorations everywhere you go. It’s truly a special time of year. Those who want to go all in might even elect to attend extra-cost ticketed seasonal parties that happen at both Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Or you might settle for a resort day spent touring the deluxe resorts that offer incredible gingerbread displays. Planning dinner at Disney Springs? Take a walk around the venue afterward to enjoy the Christmas Tree Stroll. There are so many extras this time of year. To learn more, see our entire guide to Christmas at Walt Disney World.

Halloween at Walt Disney World

It’s really not so scary! That’s what we love most about Halloween at Disney World. It’s fun-loving and family-friendly. Seasonal decorations for Halloween are often limited to the Magic Kingdom. That’s where Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party takes place each year between mid-August and Halloween. (You will need to purchase extra tickets for this party!) That said, you’ll still get to experience the gorgeous Fall decorations at Magic Kingdom on a regular park visit during this time of year. To learn more about everything Disney World has to offer this time of year, see our entire Halloween at Disney World guide below.

Easter at Walt Disney World

Easter is a beautiful and busy time to visit Walt Disney World. It’s almost as bad as Christmas week, which is historically the busiest week of the year. That said, some of the resort celebrations start about a month before Easter. If you enjoy resort-hopping, you’ll want to check out the cast member egg displays at some of the resorts. We discuss that and other offerings in our guide to spending Easter at Disney World.

The Fourth of July at Walt Disney World

The Fourth of July is one of our favorite times to visit Disney World. Yes, it’s crowded and hot. That said, you’ll be privy to patriotic decorations and holiday festivities, including special fireworks. You know you can visit Magic Kingdom or Epcot any day of the year and see fireworks. But there are only a few days when unique fireworks are offered. I don’t know about you, but I think there’s something pretty special about that. See our entire guide to the Fourth of July at Disney World.

New Year’s Eve at Walt Disney World

New Year’s Eve tends to blend into the Christmas holidays. Yes, you’ll experience many of the same things. However, you can expect special celebrations at Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios as you welcome the New Year. These events are exclusive to the holiday. Learn more in our guide.
