Disney’s Blizzard Beach Closing This September After Busy Summer Season Ends
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park will see its last day of the summer season on September 8, 2025. It will then close, and Typhoon Lagoon will remain open. Blizzard Beach will likely close for an annual refurbishment and then reopen a couple of months later. If Disney returns to their former way of rotating refurbishments between the two parks, this means Typhoon will similarly close a few months later for its annual closure. At that time, Blizzard Beach will reopen.
This was the typical behavior of the water parks before 2020, when they both closed for an extended time due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the past, both parks would swap opening and refurbishment periods over the winter. Then, they would both be open from early March through Labor Day. This allowed guests visiting between Spring Break through the late Summer to choose between the two options or even park hop between them with a valid park-hopper ticket.

Disney has not confirmed at this time whether or not they will return to the former schedule. They have announced, however, that the free water-park admission will return for select dates in 2026. Unfortunately, we do not know those specific dates at this time. When Disney announced this change, they hinted that this benefit would return for the summer of 2026 and that details would be released later.
Ultimately, if you are planning to visit a water park this Fall, you’ll likely only have one option-Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon. For more information on the water parks, you might enjoy our guides:
