Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station at Magic Kingdom
Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station is the perfect stop for children on a hot summer’s day at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Nestled in the back of Storybook Circus, this splash pad features circus elements and one famous locomotive.
This play area is inspired by Casey Jr., the circus train from Walt Disney’s Dumbo. So, each train car has exotic animals, including giraffes and elephants. For instance, in the picture below, you can see a monkey on top of a giraffe’s head. Be careful. These elements randomly spray water!

Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak
Since we’re in the parks often, we’ve passed by this circus-themed water play area many times. Suffice it to say the splash pad is popular when the weather is hot.
A few standard pool rules are displayed near the entrance.
You’ll want to keep these factors in mind if you plan to use the splash pad during your visit:
- This area is in direct sunlight.
- Parents can sit on short walls surrounding the splash pad while young guests play.
- If your child will enjoy playing in this area, make sure to bring a change of clothes.
- Restrooms sit immediately behind the splash pad area.
- This area closes in the event of inclement weather.
- Water doesn’t run at the splash pad when temperatures are cooler.
*Remember, the more you bring to Magic Kingdom, the heavier it gets as the day wears on, especially wet clothes.
The Resorts Gal Spin on Casey Jr. Splash ‘n’ Soak
We give this one the green light because it’s suitable to experience any time. Overall, Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak is a fun play area where children can cool off on a hot day. If you’re looking for a snack, you can pick one up at nearby Big Top Souvenirs or one of the snack carts near the entrance of Storybook Circus.
However, if you prefer a dry play area, you might visit the play-while-you-wait area inside the circus tent at Dumbo, the Flying Elephant. That area is air-conditioned and has bleachers for parents to sit on while children play. However, the best play area for children is The Boneyard Playground at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This is the perfect place for parents to take a break while children run off a little energy. But don’t be surprised when they don’t want to leave!
Resorts Gal Traffic Signal Guidelines
Green Light:
We give an attraction the green light if we consider it a must-do, regardless of the posted wait. We also green light any attractions we deem suitable to experience anytime. For example, some attractions have high capacities. Therefore, the lines continuously move and you shouldn’t have a long wait unless the attraction were to experience downtime.
Red Light:
We recommend checking the posted wait times for red light attractions. Then, make a quick judgment call on whether to wait, skip it, or return later. We also red light some attractions that we feel might not be suitable based on our experience.
