Liberty Square Riverboat at Magic Kingdom Closing on July 7th
Disney has shared that the Liberty Square Riverboat, Rivers of America, and Tom Sawyer Island will begin closing on July 7th (2025). Per the Disney Parks Blog, Imagineers are hard at work on the beyond Big Thunder Mountain Railroad project and bringing to life a first-ever land inspired by Disney Villains. Disney announced two new Cars-themed attractions would be part of a Frontierland expansion at Magic Kingdom during the 2024 D23 Ultimate Fan Event.
August 12, 2024
The Disney Parks Blog posted the following: To make way for this completely new frontier, the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island will be transformed into vast and rugged terrains for a rally race with some of the world’s most iconic racers. Reference

The Liberty Square Riverboat and other areas of Frontierland (Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America) are expected to begin closing on July 7th. Their last day is expected to be July 6th.
