Scooter and More Audio Animatronics Announced + Summer Opening Teased for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
It’s been some time now since The Muppets takeover of Rock ‘n’ Roller was announced for Disney’s Hollywood Studios. As of publication time, Disney has not announced an official closing date for the current attraction, except that it is expected to remain open through the end of the year. According to this morning’s Disney Parks Blog announcement, we do know two things.
First, the article states that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets speeds into Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Summer 2026. I don’t know about you, but it sounds like The Muppets will be back in the park before we know it. Disney also announced that Scooter, the Electric Mayhem’s band manager, will be imagined as an Audio-Animatronics figure for the first time ever. The announcement also teased that he might not be the only Muppet Audio-Animatronics figure joining the attraction.

Here is the complete excerpt from the Disney Parks Blog regarding the animatronics:
At Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, you bet we’ll have rock as we roll across Hollywood on a wild ride with the Electric Mayhem – complete with backstage chaos, high-speed thrills, that signature Muppet humor… and an all-new Muppet Audio-Animatronics figure.
Side by side with a dedicated team of penguin audio engineers, Scooter, in his capacity as band manager, will be trying hard to convince the Electric Mayhem to stop laying down tracks so they won’t be late to their own concert. This will be the first time Scooter has ever been imagined as an Audio-Animatronics figure, and I hear he might not be the only Muppet Audio-Animatronics figure joining the attraction… but we’ll have to wait to learn more about that.

In case you missed it, Disney also announced an Audio-Animatronic refresh for Frozen Ever After at Epcot, and they shared a sneak peek at the new Clawhauser Audio-Animatronics figure opening soon at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
