How Long Did I Wait? Trying the Single Rider Line at Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
When Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure opened at Epcot’s France Pavilion in October of 2021, it quickly became one of the park’s most popular attractions. Until somewhat recently, the only option for riding this attraction has been to wait in the standby queue or select the ride as one of your Lightning Lanes. Late last year, however, things changed when Disney began testing a single rider line for this trackless 4D ride experience. Now, the single rider entrance has become a permanent thing.
On a recent visit, I decided to try the single rider option for myself. Below, we’ll discuss how long I waited, along with the pros and cons of the experience. I believe that most eligible parties will, at the very least, want to be aware of it. As far as eligibility goes, children under the age of 7 years must be accompanied by a person who is aged 14 years or older. (This rule applies to every ride at Disney World.) So, while Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure doesn’t have a height requirement, you would need to stick with the traditional standby queue or Lightning Lane if you were riding with a child under the age of 7 years old.

How the Single Rider Line at Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Works
When you arrive at Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, you’ll want to stay to the left for the single rider line. The Lightning Lane entrance is in the middle, and the standby line is on the right.

You’ll continue through a short hallway.

Then, you’ll pass by the Parisian rooftop scene.

Before you know it, you’ll be picking up a pair of 3D glasses and preparing to board the ride.

As you get closer to the loading area, you’ll notice signage reminding guests that all groups will be separated and assigned different vehicles.

My Experience
Okay, how did we do? It was 3:00 p.m. on the dot when I got in line to ride Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. The posted wait time for the standby entrance was 35 minutes. I walked the entire length of the single rider queue and didn’t encounter anyone else.

I ended up waiting less than five minutes and was paired with another family who was riding it for the first time. By 3:13 p.m., I was back out front taking a time-stamp photo of the entrance for my records.

Pros and Cons of This Single Rider Line
Overall, the single rider experience is a great option if you’re a solo traveler or don’t mind splitting up your party. Will you always find an empty line? No, but the majority of times, your wait will be significantly shorter than the standby queue. That said, if you run into a long single rider line, there are no guarantees. The single rider line will almost always move more slowly because the cast members are pairing guests where there is an odd seat left in a car. (The shorter wait comes from fewer guests joining the single rider queue.)
When I’m traveling with family and friends, we always do the single rider. Of course, you’ll want to consider if you have someone in your party who might not feel comfortable riding alone or sitting next to a stranger. It might be a deal-breaker for some. I believe that most guests, in general, are unaware of the single rider option. Or maybe it just doesn’t click that they could take advantage of it since they’re traveling with family.
