First Look: Grand Floridian’s Birdcage-Themed Bar Takes Shape
The lobby of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa continues its transformation, and guests are now getting their first glimpse of the brand-new bird-cage themed bar. You may remember that we visited the resort only last week and saw that the bar’s initial framing had been installed. Last night during our stop, we were surprised to find that the actual top of the bird cage had been placed over the existing frame. I had a feeling you all would want to see a few photos and get an idea for yourself of the design that will soon welcome guests.

Here are a few photos from various angles taken from the resort’s second floor.

So far, it looks on point with the concept art that was originally released.

We walked downstairs to get an idea of how it would look from the lobby. Bar or not, it will be nice to have the extra space back when these walls come down.

It’s probably needless to say, but the birdcage bar will be a significant part of the lobby when completed.

Here’s a view from the first-floor entry.

Then, one last view before we were off to see a parade.

Work began at the Grand Floridian lobby on April 14th. At this time, there is no timeframe listed as to when it will be completed. Here is the updated statement on the Walt Disney World website.
As part of the ongoing enhancements at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, phased updates to the lobby, convention center, and select areas will begin April 14. Portions of the lobby will close at times, and Guests may encounter changes to their path of travel. While construction will be noticeable during daytime hours, efforts will be made to minimize disruptions—and all pools, dining, and other amenities will remain available. As renovations continue at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, the gingerbread display will not be available during the holiday season in 2025.
If you’re visiting over the holiday season, you’ll want to remember that the gingerbread house will not be part of this year’s seasonal displays. For more on the resort, see our guide to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.
