Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto Opening Earlier for Foreseeable Future
Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto, the popular bar and lounge at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, is opening earlier for the foreseeable future. Per their website, this location now opens at 11:00 a.m. The bar formerly opened at 3:00 p.m. each day. It remains to be seen if this will be a permanent change. That said, hours of operation for Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto are posted 60 days in advance. At this time, the furthest date out on the calendar shows an 11:00 a.m. opening.
We recommend checking the exact hours for this location in the My Disney Experience on the day of your visit. You can use the app’s search feature and type in Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto to quickly locate it. Once the bar pops up, you’ll be able to select it and see the hours of operation for the day. The app also provides access to the menu and other information about the location.
If you have plans to visit Trader Sam’s, you’ll want to be aware that the bar and lounge welcome guests of all ages, including children, from opening until 8:00 p.m. After 8:00 p.m., guests must be 21 years of age or older to visit. This location is also exceptionally popular and may require a wait to enter. We often see a line of guests outside the entrance who are waiting to join a walk-up list and receive a text to return at a later time.
