The Country Bears Greet Guests at Magic Kingdom
Walt Disney’s Country Bears can usually be found around the Country Bear Musical Jamboree in Frontierland. They roam the land intermittently throughout the day. A general list of their times is usually listed in the My Disney Experience app.
Please note that they’ve debuted new outfits since the photos in this article were taken.

Since they roam the area, you’ll have to find them. But, thankfully, when they’re out, they aren’t too difficult to spot. Here are the instructions on how to find them:
How to Locate Characters in the My Disney Experience App
- Open the My Disney Experience app and select the pin drop at the bottom of the home screen.
- Scroll (left to right) through the icons at the top of the screen and select “Characters.”
- After selecting characters, use the locations drop-down to select the park of your choice.
- Then, on the bottom right of the screen, select “Show List.”
- Scroll through the list of characters with their times and locations.
- As an alternative, you can use the map view to locate characters.
*As the day passes, you might notice that characters disappear from the app. When their last scheduled time passes, the meet-and-greet automatically disappears. A new schedule won’t be loaded until the following day. It is essential to check the app for meet-and-greets on the day of your visit.

Here are a few of the Country Bears you might see on your visit.
Big Al
It’s always a pleasure to see Big Al. He is a little on the shy side and always gets embarrassed when asked for a photo.

Liver Lips McGrowl
Liver Lips McGrowl seemed preoccupied when we last saw him. He has a pair of pretty distinct lips, and that’s where he got his name.

Shaker
Shaker was out walking the line when we last ran into him. He is a friendly bear. But aren’t they all?

When Wendell’s out, he usually wears a blue scarf. If you run into the Country Bears while touring Frontierland, feel free to walk up and say hello. If you ask politely, they will be glad to pose for a photo. However, since they are roaming characters, they rarely stay in one spot for long. The Country Bears do not always sign autographs. If you want a photo, you’ll have to take a photo with your personal device.
If you have no idea who the Country Bears are, step inside Grizzly Hall for the Country Bear Musical Jamboree. Before long, you’ll probably find them as endearing as everyone else.
