Epcot Scheduled to Close Earlier Than Usual During the 2026 Festival of the Holidays
It appears that Epcot will not extend its operating hours during the 2026 Epcot International Festival of the Holidays. According to recently published operating hours on the Walt Disney World website, the park will continue to close at 9:00 p.m. This is a change from recent years, when Epcot shifted its normal closing time from 9:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. throughout the Festival of the Holidays.
This year’s Festival of the Holidays begins the day after Thanksgiving and runs through December 30th. While Disney could still extend park hours, we don’t expect any changes for Epcot. Several other changes to this year’s entertainment schedule appear to line up with the earlier closing time. Let’s take a look!
Epcot Entertainment Schedule Changes for the Festival of the Holidays
The timing of two of Epcot’s most popular nighttime offerings makes the 9:00 p.m. closing sound intentional. Both Luminous: The Symphony of Us and the festival-specific Candlelight Processional will have earlier showtimes than usual this holiday season.
Luminous: The Symphony of Us Showtime Changes
As of the time of publication, Luminous: The Symphony of Us, Epcot’s major fireworks spectacular, has showtimes pushed back from 9:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. starting November 27th. For reference, the 27th is the day after Thanksgiving and the start date for the Festival of the Holidays.
Typically, Epcot’s nighttime spectacular is scheduled at park closing. This year, however, Luminous is currently listed for 9:15 p.m., meaning it will take place shortly after the park officially closes.
Candlelight Processional Showtime Changes
This year’s Candlelight Processional performances are scheduled for 4:45 p.m., 6:30 p.m., and 8:00 p.m. at the America Gardens Theatre. That’s earlier than the usual 5:00 p.m., 6:45 p.m., and 8:15 p.m. schedule.
It is likely that the performance schedule was adjusted to accommodate the earlier park closing during the holiday season. With the last Candlelight Processional beginning at 8:00 p.m., it should wrap up by 9:00 p.m., giving guests time to leave the theater and find a spot around World Showcase Lagoon for the evening fireworks.

What The Early Closing Means for Guests
With Epcot scheduled to close at 9:00 p.m., guests should plan around that time when deciding when to experience attractions, shop, and dine. Disney has not specifically stated how attraction queues will be handled for the 2026 holiday season, but it is typical for guests to be allowed to enter attraction queues up until the park’s scheduled closing time. We expect that to remain the case this year.
Most of Epcot’s food and beverage locations and World Showcase offerings will also close with the park. However, some shops near the front of the park and exits may remain open after 9:00 p.m., as is typical for any day. The biggest difference this year is that guests should not plan on having that extra 30 minutes to enjoy Epcot.
Final Thoughts
If you’re anything like me, you won’t want to walk around Epcot thinking you have extra time because the park “always” stays open later during the holidays. Sadly, this year, it won’t.
