Three Nyala Calves Born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
Three new Nyala calves have arrived at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, giving guests a few new babies to keep an eye on the resort’s savannas. Disney recently shared photos of the trio, who are currently spending time backstage bonding with their mothers before they may make their debut on the savanna.

Three New Nyala Calves at Animal Kingdom Lodge
Disney introduced the three newest arrivals with a cheerful announcement, calling them “three times the cuteness!” For now, the calves are staying backstage with their mothers as they continue this important bonding time. Disney has not announced when they will be available for guests to see.
Nyala are spiral-horned antelope native to Southern Africa. The calves are born with distinctive white stripes and spots that help them blend into their surroundings. As males mature, their coats become darker, and they develop the characteristic spiral horns. Females generally retain their brown coats with white markings.

The new arrivals add to the growing number of baby animals welcomed at Walt Disney World this year. We previously shared updates on several other new arrivals in our guide to baby animals debuting at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge 2026.
For now, guests will have to wait for the new Nyala calves to make their savanna debut. In the meantime, it is always worth watching for wildlife while visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, where the savannas are home to a variety of African animals.
Rare Albino Wallaby Joey Arrives at Jumping Junction
There is another new arrival to celebrate at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, where a rare albino wallaby joey named Quartz has joined the animals at Jumping Junction.
Quartz has white fur and reddish eyes due to albinism, a genetic condition that results in little or no melanin, the pigment responsible for coloring. The joey has been spotted staying close to its mother, and Disney’s animal care team is monitoring and caring for the youngster.
Jumping Junction is located at Conservation Station in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Guests can reach the area by riding the Wildlife Express Train from Harambe in Africa.
