Meet Mulan at Epcot’s China Pavilion
Mulan, the warrior princess and humble daughter from Disney’s animated and live-action films, meets daily in the China Pavilion of Epcot’s World Showcase. This is one of the very few places you’ll find her at Disney World. She rarely participates in character or other entertainment offerings.
Below, we’ll discuss her meet-and-greet location, including a couple of photos, and her character autographs. Like most characters, you can expect a long wait to meet her. She is very popular. While Mulan has met guests in Epcot’s China Pavilion for many years, you’ll still want to check the My Disney Experience app on the day of your visit for her exact time and locations. She is often in the Great Hall of China. However, occasionally, she meets in the gardens of China, surrounding the replica of the Temple of Heaven. So we’ll preview both locations below so you’ll know exactly where to look for her.
On a sidenote, if you have difficulty finding a character, the best cast members to ask are the ones wearing blue shirts at another meet-and-greet. These cast members work with characters and, from our experience, can provide the most accurate information. Other characters who meet near Epcot’s China Pavilion include the Anna and Elsa meet-and-greet at the Royal Sommerhus and Snow White in Germany by her wishing well.

In the past, Mulan met guests near the water garden paths near the Temple of Heaven replica. If she meets in this area, her line forms behind the signage for the Nikon photo spot. Below is a photo of the line to give you an idea. As you can see, a number of guests are waiting to meet her.

I joined the queue to meet Mulan on this visit at 2:59 p.m. Unfortunately, the line was about to close even though the meeting didn’t start until 3:00 p.m.. So, no other guests were allowed to join after me. I met Mulan at 3:18 p.m. Overall, it took approximately 20 minutes to meet Mulan this afternoon. She typically meets intermittently between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
This is why we emphasize the importance of checking the My Disney Experience app on the day of your visit. You’ll want to check for the character’s exact timing and location. It’s also essential to get in line before the listed start time. Cast members will cut the line, like the instance noted above, when a long line forms. This saying applies to character meet-and-greets: “If you’re early, you’re on time. And if you’re on time, you’re probably late.”
How to Locate Characters in the My Disney Experience App
- Open the My Disney Experience app and select the pin drop at the bottom of the home screen.
- Scroll (left to right) through the icons at the top of the screen and select “Characters.”
- After selecting characters, use the locations drop down to select the park of your choice.
- Then, on the bottom right of the screen, select “Show List.”
- Scroll through the list of characters with their times and locations.
- As an alternative, you can use the map view to locate characters.
*As the day passes, you might notice that characters disappear from the app. When their last scheduled time passes, the meet-and-greet automatically disappears. A new schedule won’t be loaded until the following day. It is essential to check the app for meet-and-greets on the day of your visit.

Mulan usually meets for approximately 30 minutes before taking a break. However, the time between breaks is usually shorter in the summer months. When this meet-and-greet is held outdoors, the majority of the line is in direct sunlight, meaning the heat can get pretty intense.

Mulan meets in her full Chinese Hanfu dress, which is a beautiful costume. She is a talking character and signs autographs. She enjoys talking about Mushu and Kahn, her horse. You may want to mention talking points with children in advance. Characters remain in their roles and do not deviate.

A PhotoPass photographer is usually present to take your photo at this meet-and-greet. If you didn’t purchase the Memory Maker, you could ask if they’ll take a family photo with your device.

Here is a look at her character autograph.

Each character has a unique signature, and they are fun to collect. You can purchase an autograph book in the parks. They usually run approximately $15.00. Or, if you’re on a budget, you can purchase a small notebook to bring with you. Don’t forget to bring a pen or Sharpie marker! Mulan also meets inside the Great Hall of China. This is the foyer area of the theater where Reflections of China is held. Below is a photo of guests walking toward the entrance.

This is a much more reasonable spot to meet with Mulan because it’s indoors in an air-conditioned space. They have a queue set up inside. You might notice the cast member wearing a blue shirt in the photo below. Cast members in this uniform specifically work with characters.

When it was my turn, I asked the cast member attending the meet if this was the best place to find Mulan. He said it was much easier for everyone to be inside than out in the sun. Most will agree this is an excellent location for guests and cast members. Here are a few photos.
