Meet Goofy at the Harambe Train Station at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Goofy meets guests daily at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at the Harambe Train Station in Africa. This is where the Wildlife Express Train picks guests up and takes them to Rafiki’s Planet Watch. Goofy meets intermittently throughout the day at this location inside the train station. He formerly met in his carnival costume in the Dinoland, and then for a while he met near Restaurantosaurus. This most recent move is due to the impending closure of that park area.

Below, we’ll discuss the specifics for meeting Goofy at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It is important to note that Animal Kingdom is undergoing major construction for the next few years. We’ve seen many character locations shift and expect more. While we try to keep our character guides as updated as possible, things could and will likely change. So make sure you see our section below on how to use the app to locate characters.

To reach the Harambe Train Station, you’ll need to walk to the back of the Africa section of the park. This area is near the exit of Kilimanjaro Safaris and across the walkway from Zuri Sweets Shop. You’ll see a large sign that says Rafiki’s Planet Watch.

You’ll pass under the sign and take the short walkway down to the Harambe Train Station.

Goofy is meeting in a queue on the right-hand side of the station. A cast member is near the entrance trying to make sure that guests know they are getting in line to meet Goofy, not for the train.

When it was our turn to meet Goofy, he was quick to show off his bird-watching gear. It’s a fun rolling prop that he takes everywhere.

Goofy was more than happy to pose for a few photos. He is also an autograph-signing character, and a PhotoPass photographer was present on the day of our visit.

How to Locate Characters in the My Disney Experience App

• Open the My Disney Experience app and select the pin drop at the bottom of the home screen.
• Scroll (left to right) through the icons at the top of the screen and select “Characters.”
• After selecting characters, use the locations drop-down to select the park of your choice.
• Then, on the bottom right of the screen, select “Show List.”
• Scroll through the list of characters with their times and locations.
• As an alternative, you can use the map view to locate characters.

*As the day passes, you might notice that characters disappear from the app. When their last scheduled time passes, the meet-and-greet automatically disappears. A new schedule won’t be loaded until the following day. It is essential to check the app for meet-and-greets on the day of your visit.
