Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Pools

Disney’s Caribbean Beach is one of the largest resorts at Disney World. With a resort of this magnitude, it means you’ll have plenty of options when it comes to the pool. Caribbean Beach has six pools, one of which is a feature pool. The other five pools are considered leisure or quiet pools spread out among the villages.

Below, we’ll discuss the pools at Disney’s Caribbean Beach. First, we’ll go over the basics for each pool, like pool hours and complimentary amenities. Then, we’ll go over what to expect at the Fuentes del Morro, the resort’s Spanish fortress-themed feature pool. We’ll also preview each of the quiet pools and their amenities.

All of the photos from this article were taken during our last stay at Disney’s Caribbean Beach. We live in the area and stay at the resorts regularly to provide as much updated coverage as possible.

The 6 Pools at Disney’s Caribbean Beach

As mentioned above, Disney’s Caribbean Beach has six swimming pools. They are as follows:

• Fuentes del Morro Pool (Feature Pool)
• Aruba Pool
• Jamaica Pool
• Trinidad Pool
• Barbados Pool
• Martinique Pool

We’ll preview each one further below.

Pool Details for Planning Your Vacation

During our visit, the feature pool hours at Disney’s Caribbean Beach were between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. However, these hours are subject to change. During the summer months until Labor Day, the feature pool hours are usually extended one hour until 11:00 p.m.

The pools at Disney’s Caribbean Beach are heated to 82 degrees, so they usually remain open in cooler weather. However, if the outside temperature drops to 50 degrees or lower, the pools will close until warmer temperatures return.

We stayed at Caribbean Beach when the pool was closed one morning because of the temperature. But when the weather warmed up later in the day, the pool opened for guests. Most guests will be able to use the pools year-round. However, there is an occasional cold snap that might last the extent of your vacation.

Quiet pool hours were posted from 7:00 a.m. through 11:00 p.m. These pool hours are pretty consistent throughout the year. However, you’ll want to know that the quiet pools at Caribbean Beach do not have lifeguards or other attendants.

Complimentary towels are provided at each Caribbean Beach pool, so you can use the extra room in your suitcase for something else.

Life jackets are also provided at each resort pool. They come in a wide range of sizes.

Per Disney, pool lifts and other access options are available for guests with disabilities or limited mobility. Pool hours and lifeguard availability vary by pool and are subject to change.

A shower and changing area are available at the Fuentes del Morro Pool at Disney’s Caribbean Beach. Inside the shower, you’ll find toiletries like body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. These areas used to have hairdryers, but I have not seen too many lately. Regardless, this is a decent area to change or shower if you spend your checkout day at the pool and head to the airport later.

The Fuentes Del Morro Pool (Photos)

Caribbean Beach’s primary pool is the Fuentes del Morro Pool, which is part of Old Port Royale, the resort’s central hub. The pool is themed to resemble a Spanish fortress and has two waterslides, one of which is 102 feet long!

One side of the pool has a zero-depth entry.

The maximum depth of the Fuentes del Morro Pool is 4 feet and 10 inches.

Waterslides at the Fuentes del Morro Pool

Caribbean Beach is one of the only pools at Disney World with more than one slide. The larger of the two slides is 102′ long and sits toward the back of the pool. To reach the slide’s entrance, you’ll have to take the stairs to the upper level of the fort.

From the top, you can take in views of Caribbean Beach. I’m unsure why this area hasn’t been turned into a sun deck. I can only imagine that it was originally intended to be one. However, most of it’s fenced off.

The entrance to the slide is immediately at the top of the staircase. Guests will wait until the light turns green, and then it’s their turn.

Looking down, you can see where the slide exits into the pool, which is 4’3″ deep at the slide exit.

Another slide is available on the opposite side of Fuentes del Morro. This pool is not nearly as intimidating as the tunnel slide.

You’ll only climb a few stairs to reach the top. From there, other than a small end, you can see the entire way down.

You can enter the slide from either side of the tower.

Hot Tub at the Fuentes del Morro Pool

Caribbean Beach has a 12-person spa hot tub near the Fuentes del Morro Pool. However, it’s on the opposite side of the pool in an area all to itself. You can see a photo of it below. But a word of warning. During our stay, I stopped by the pool many times to get a picture of the hot tub. It was busy from first thing in the morning until late evening.

We even came by the area one day when the weather had turned chilly. I just knew I would get a photo of an empty hot tub. But it was even busier then! And the weather didn’t make for the best pool pictures.

So, the chances of finding an uncrowded hot tub and feature pool are slim. Disney’s Caribbean Beach is an exceptionally popular resort. It’s gorgeous, and so is the pool! It ranks high on our list of the best pools at Walt Disney World.

Shipwreck Aquatic Play Area at Disney’s Caribbean Beach

The Shipwreck water play area sits adjacent to the Fuentes del Morro Pool. This play zone is available for children who are 48″ or less.

This over-the-top splash pad has several mini-slides, a crow’s nest, and a barrel that releases a torrential downpour every so often. It’s similar to the Alice and Wonderland aquatic play area at the Grand Floridian.

Banana Cabana Pool Bar at Caribbean Beach

Banana Cabana is the resort’s pool bar and lounge. It is immediately across the walkway from the feature pool. There is no poolside bar within the fenced pool area.

Banana Cabana is a large open-air bar that serves various beverages and appetizers. If you’re looking for a counter-service meal, you’ll likely want to order something from Centertown Market and bring it to the pool. You can easily mobile order from the pool using the My Disney Experience app.

Banana Cabana is open daily from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Here is a photo of the walk-up area from the pool. Don’t be surprised if you find a long line during the busier portion of the day.

Guests can also dine at Banana Cabana. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

A soda refill machine is available immediately across from the pool gates. Anyone can use the machine to refill Rapid Fill mugs, as well as for ice and complimentary water. A sink is available to rinse your mug if needed.

Quiet Pools at Disney’s Caribbean Beach

In addition to the Fuentes del Morro Pool, Caribbean Beach is home to five other leisure pools. These pools are simple to find. Each village has a quiet pool, and each pool has a gate that leads out to the walkway around Barefoot Bay. So, if you make an entire circle around the lake, you’ll pass the gate to each pool.

Aruba Pool

Aruba is the section of the resort nearest the Skyliner station at Disney’s Riviera. This resort area is light pink with green rooms. Here is the quiet pool in the Aruba section.

Jamaica Pool

Jamaica sits between Aruba and the central Disney Skyliner station. This is one of our favorite resort areas because of its central location and convenience. This area has yellow buildings with blue roofs. Here is the quiet pool in Jamaica.

Trinidad Pool

During this visit, we were in the Trinidad section of the resort, which is a little bit further out than the rest of the resort. Here is the photo that was only a few steps away from our room. This pool is slightly different from the others because it has a resort counter service nearby, the Spyglass Grill. So you can pick up drinks and food at this quiet pool. But that is not an option at the resort’s other quiet pools.

Barbados Pool

The Barbados Pool sits between Old Port Royale and Trinidad. This quiet pool is close to the Fuentes del Morro Pool. If you find the feature pool too busy, this one’s only a short walk away.

Martinique Pool

Lastly, Martinique sits between Old Port Royale and Disney’s Riviera Resort. This quiet pool sits on the very outskirts of Martinique along the walkway to the Riviera.

Each quiet pool has plenty of loungers, tables with chairs, some umbrellas, and table games.

Additionally, each quiet pool has a laundry facility immediately behind it. Laundry rooms have washers, dryers, and detergent available. You can usually find a few vending machines with snacks, too.

If swimming isn’t your thing, Caribbean Beach is home to several white-sand beach areas surrounding its lake, Barefoot Bay. You can walk out of any of the quiet pool gates and find a sandy area along Barefoot Bay.

You’ll find hammocks, loungers, and other seating arrangements.

It’s fun to watch the Disney Skyliner creaking by in the distance. I say creaking because it does make a bit of noise as it passes.

The Resorts Gal Spin on Caribbean Beach’s Pools

As someone who’s spent a significant amount of time at Caribbean Beach over the years, I can assure you that the Fuentes del Morro Pool is two things. It’s one of the best pools at Disney and one of the most crowded. If you’re in the mood for a casual dip or like to swim earlier or later, by all means, take advantage of the quiet pools. There have also been times when we couldn’t get a seat with adequate shade at the feature pool. Sometimes, we wait for one to come open. Other times, we grab a snack and a drink at Old Port Royale and take it back to a quiet pool. You might consider packing a small cooler if you think you’ll want to enjoy a few drinks at the quiet pool. You can usually get a foldable one that won’t take up much room in your suitcase.

Overall, Disney’s Caribbean Beach has an incredible feature pool and plenty of leisure pools. We recommend planning at least an entire resort day during your stay to enjoy the pools and everything else the resort has to offer.
