Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground Pools
If you’re planning a stay at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and campground, you might be curious about the pools. The resort has two swimming pools, a feature pool and a quiet pool. So whether you’re spending a week roughing it at a campsite or glamping in a cabin, a swimming hole is available nearby.
For this guide, we’ll focus on the pools at Disney’s Fort Wilderness. First, we’ll visit The Meadow to see the Meadown Swimmin’ Pool and the surrounding recreation area. Then, we’ll preview the resort’s secondary quiet pool, which is on the opposite side of the resort in a loop near the cabins. With so much to do at Disney’s Fort Wilderness, you might end up spending more time at the resort than visiting the parks. Either way, don’t forget to pack your sunscreen! Now, let’s take a dip in the pools!

The Meadow Swimmin’ Pool
Guests can find the resort’s feature pool (The Meadow Swimmin’ Pool) at The Meadow, an extensive recreation area in the center of the resort. The Meadow sits on the Orange line if you need to take an internal bus to access the pool area. A golf cart parking lot is available for anyone who wants to drive their golf cart. Bike racks are also available nearby.
In addition to the pool, this area is home to the Meadow Trading Post, The Bike Barn (fishing, canoe, and bike rentals), an arcade, sports courts, a playground, and a poolside quick-service restaurant.

On one side of The Meadow Swimmin’ Pool, there is an aquatic play area for children. This area is separately fenced, with gates leading from the pool and outside the pool area.

A sidewalk wraps around the pool’s perimeter. Around the outskirts, you’ll find several sports courts for tennis and basketball.

Meadow Swimmin’ Pool Hours
The Meadow Swimmin’ Pool’s posted hours are between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., and they usually run from Labor Day until around Memorial Day. During the summer months, pool hours are usually extended until 11:00 p.m. As always, you’ll want to confirm the exact hours of operation during your visit. They are posted at each age.

Here is a photo of the pool. It has a maximum depth of 3 feet and 9 inches (3’9″).

While The Meadow Pool is a nice pool area, compared to some resorts, it doesn’t have many extra features.

However, the pool does have a cool, twisting waterslide.

A stand with complimentary lifejackets is available at the pool.

A few rules are posted near the slide.

On a busy day, expect a line for the slide. I came by a couple of times to get photos for this article. Every time I visited, the place was too packed for photos.

I lucked up getting these photos because I waited out a storm and was the first one back in when the pool reopened.

The aquatic play area sits nearby.

It’s themed like a fort and offers several fun water features with two mini-slides.

A whirlpool spa is available on the opposite side of the pool.

Lounge chairs are available around the pool deck.

A few tables with chairs are spread out behind the lounge chairs. They have green umbrellas.

The Meadow Snack Bar is the quick-service dining location at the pool.

See our guide to refillable mugs at Fort Wilderness for info on the beverage refill station at the pool. You can view the current pool bar menu with prices on Disney’s site.

A refillable beverage station is available at the pool.

An arcade is available at the pool.

This is Daniel Boone’s Wilderness Arcade at The Meadow. Davy Crockett’s Wilderness Arcade is at Pioneer Hall.

A few tabletop games are available in a covered area around the pool.

Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool
In addition to the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool, Fort Wilderness has a quiet pool located in the same area as the cabins. It’s tucked between the 2500 and 2700 blocks of the Peacock Pass loop. Here are a few photos of the pool.

Since this is considered a leisure pool, there is no lifeguard on duty. This pool is open daily between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. It has a maximum depth of 4 feet and 6 inches (4’6″). A whirlpool spa is also available at this pool area.

Overall, the pools at Disney’s Fort Wilderness offer a place for children to play and adults to relax. However, don’t be surprised if you find the pool areas crowded. Unfortunately, that’s often the case for most of the pools at Disney World’s Resorts.
