Beachcomber Shacks at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon (Cabana Rentals)
If you’re looking for a dedicated place to relax during your visit to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, you might consider renting a Beachcomber Shack. These private cabanas offer amenities to enhance your water park visit. Below, we’ll discuss renting a Beachcomber Shack, including each level’s price, location, and amenities.
It is important to note upfront that cabana rentals are expensive. However, depending on your circumstances, you might find they are worth the extra cost. From my experience, I thought my first cabana rental would be a one-and-done experience. But, to my surprise, I loved the luxury of this paid-for extra and could see how it would efficiently work for various groups.

Beachcomber Shacks at Typhoon Lagoon
Typhoon Lagoon has three unique Beachcomber Shack rentals. The cabanas range in price from $225.00 to $500.00. They can be reserved up to 60 days in advance of your vacation. Here is a list of the three types of shacks with links to Disney’s site where you can check availability and pricing. Pricing is date-based and ranges from regular to peak season.
- Standard Beachcomber Shack (Check Availability and Exact Price)
- Premium Beachcomber Shack (Check Availability and Exact Price)
- Premium Plus Beachcomber Shack (Check Availability and Exact Price)
Disney’s Cancellation Policy for Beachcomber Shacks reads, “Guests who need to cancel Beachcomber Shack reservations must provide 24-hour advance notice. The full price of your reservation will be charged in the event of no-shows or same-day cancellations. Rentals may be cancelled by the water park due to inclement weather. If this occurs, Guests will not be charged.“
What Comes with a Beachcomber Shack?
Depending on the level, you’ll receive the following amenities with your Beachcomber Shack:
Standard Beachcomber Shacks include:
- Attendant service
- Cushioned Seating (6 Guests)
- Towels
- Locker
- Cold Water
- Select Soft Drinks
While cushioned seating is only available for up to six guests, a standard shack can accommodate up to 10 guests. You will also have a cabana attendant to assist you throughout the day. The attendant will take any food or beverage orders and see that they are delivered directly to your cabana. Of course, extra charges apply for dining, and you will need to tip your attendant.
Deluxe Beachcomber Shacks include:
- Attendant service
- Cushioned Seating (8 Guests)
- Towels
- Locker
- Cold Water
- Select Soft Drinks
While cushioned seating is only available for up to eight guests, a deluxe shack can accommodate up to 12 guests. You will also have a cabana attendant to assist you throughout the day. The attendant will take any food or beverage orders and see that they are delivered directly to your cabana. Of course, extra charges apply for dining, and you will need to tip your attendant.
*The only difference between the standard and deluxe Beachcomber Shacks is the number of guests they accommodate and the amount of cushioned seating.
Premium Plus Beachcomber Shacks include:
- Attendant service
- Cushioned Seating (6 Guests)
- Towels
- Locker
- Cold Water
- Select Soft Drinks
- Dining Table
- Mini Refrigerator
- Flat-screen Television
- Oscillating Fan
- Electrical Outlets
This cabana rental accommodates the same number of guests as the standard rental and comes with an attendant. However, it offers a good deal of extras, which might come in handy for someone who needs to work during their visit. From our experience, we also enjoyed having a television. It’s an excellent spot to get children to rest and keep them entertained if everyone needs a break at some point in the day.

Location of Beachcomber Shacks at Typhoon Lagoon
Beachcomber Shacks are scattered throughout the park. Many of them are near a beach area called the Getaway Glen. A few sit along the walkway facing Castaway Creek past Miss Adventure Falls. Additionally, a few shacks are near the Surf Pool. The location will largely depend on what type of cabana you decide to rent.
Is a Beachcomber Shack a Good Fit for Your Group?
From our experience, cabana rentals are best suited for those who plan to spend an entire day at Typhoon Lagoon. They are also good when traveling with someone who might prefer to relax and read a book in the shade rather than experience some of the attractions. For example, a grandparent might not want to get in the water or be in the sun all day. But they might still enjoy sitting in the shade and relaxing while spending time with the rest of the family as they come and go.
Another example I touched on above is when you’re visiting with children. If your child needs a nap after lunch, they can take one. Meanwhile, you can relax and enjoy the Florida weather from your shaded cabana. When they wake up, you can continue with your day. You won’t feel the need to leave early because they are ill or tired.
We also like having a cabana in the event of rain. You’ll have a covered area to retreat to while everyone else scrambles to find cover. This is also when the water park tends to clear out. People don’t always realize that the rain tends to pass quickly (not always). We have found that the best time to experience the water parks is after the rain.
*If you’re traveling with a smaller party, you might also consider an umbrella rental at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon.

Do you know if we should tip the attendant and if so what standard should we apply? Is it based on the shack or what we order?
Also they have changed the cup, they are no longer list it.
Thank you, yes they discontinued the cups this summer and I forgot it was listed on this article. We always leave a tip but I’m not sure what the standard is for cabanas. I would think somewhere around 18 to 20%. PlanDisney suggests a $20.00 to $50.00 tip in this question and answer forum.
